About Lumpini Park
Lumpini Park is a popular tourist attraction in Bangkok, Thailand. The 58-hectare park was the first in the country and was created to host the first exhibition in the 1920s. Witnessing around 10,000 visitors each day, the park is free for entry and is open from 5am to 9pm. If you are visiting here for the first time, you have the MRT Subway Silom or Lumphini Station for convenient travel. You can also travel here through a taxi, bus or Tuk-Tuk.
Lumpini Park is a perfect place for a variety of leisure activities. You can take a stroll, jog, cycle, go bird watching, paddle boats, check out the library and much more. The Palm Garden of Lumpini Park hosts concerts and special events. Lumpini Park, which has a statue of the king at the southwest entrance, is also used for rallies and public mass gatherings. There are several playgrounds within the park for kids. And if you love basketball, there is a well managed court for basketball games. Besides activities, there is also a variety of food to try. I am a frequent Lumphini Park visitor, almost on a weekly basis, whenever I am in Bangkok. Lovely park with lush greens…. However, through out the years, while the authority tried to control the spread of alligators , on the other hand , the CROWs has been widely bred !! Big numbers of them !!!! One will notice of too may Crows gather around at almost every corner at the park , messing up the waste garbage , creating big sounds ! Not only the crows post unsightly scenes , it also blocks the beautiful chirping sounds of other birds creature…Can the park authority do something about it please ?
