About Kennedy Space Center
The Kennedy Space Center is a NASA base of operations, named after the 35th US president, John F. Kennedy. The popular tourist destination takes its place among the ten national aeronautics and space administration field centers. Based in Florida on the Merritt Island, an hour drive from Orlando, the space center neighbors the Cape Canaveral Air Force station and also encompasses a visitors’ centre and a space vehicle assembly building. Wildlife enthusiasts also will find a sanctuary where visitors will be enthralled by Florida’s flora and fauna. Other highlights around the space center include the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Indian River, Mosquito Lagoon and Canaveral National Seashore.
Since the dawn of the Kennedy Space Center in the 1960s, it has continued as NASA’s principal center for human spaceflights. Memorably, the Kennedy space center grounds served the departure of the first man’s journey to the moon. The space center managed the first Apollo flights, Project Mercury, and Project Gemini. Boasting of facilities spread out at the center’s 144,000 acres of land, the Kennedy Space Center oversees successful take off robotic missions and conducts researches on food production for space expedition.
The Kennedy Space Center does well to host about 1.5 million visitors yearly. Visitors get to experience the adventure and exposure of the pioneering age of American space expedition. It serves as a rare moment to have close look at the Gemini 9 capsule along other out-of-earth artifacts at the 4D multisensory theater. The space center consists of the astronaut hall of fame established by the Mercury Seven astronauts. The hall of fame arrays the lives of great American astronaut inductees chosen by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. Guests get to learn of the EVA 23 documentary- a space exploration that nearly turned tragic and a team work effort to save an astronaut’s life.
NASA’s rocket science operation remains a mystery to the general public. However, the Kennedy Space Center gives its guests access to age old launch sites and spaceflight operations. On the bus tour outside the gates of the Kennedy Space Center, awaits access to NASA’s specialized operational facilities, photo opportunities, a tour on the historical lands of Cape Canaveral, and a social date and cozy launch with an astronaut. Further into the race to the moon adventure, visitors of the Kennedy Space Center get first hand experience of the Apollo 8 and Saturn V center.
The space center embodies four restaurants and three snack stands that will leave a memorable print on guests’ dining experience. The Kennedy space center expects visitors to plan ahead their visits with unique visiting dates and times that vary across the year. Taking into consideration guest experience, it offers ticket options and packages that differ to suit each guest.
The space shop, occupying 15, 372 square feet land, is the largest store for space collectibles and NASA gear. Augmenting the shopping experience, guests get to meet the Astronaut of the day and get an autographed photo.

On holiday in Florida from the UK. We visited Kennedy Space Center today and had the most awesome time. Staff were kind, helpful and accommodating. Thank you for an amazing day KSC! Only suggestion I have is sell some sparkly NASA tops for women….they would fly off the shelves.
We were extremely disappointed with our last visit. We brought people from out of state last Thursday and it was so crowded with roudy kids. They were out of control running all over the place. They were screaming on the rides and in the theaters. They were climbing on the exhibits and just being loud and obnoxious. We purposely brought people who had never seen KSC and were very excited to see it. We weren’t able to see everything and had to eventually leave early because of the kids.
I was so disappointed. We came out to the space center with my niece after visiting a few years ago. The bus tour and restricted area reservations were full before we even entered. However no one told us. It was a total disappointment I would like tickets for an additional day or a refund – that was over 1/2 the experience.
