Helsinki Metro customer serviceHelsinki Metro (Helsingin metro) began operations in the year 1982. The rapid transit system operates 2 lines connecting to more than 17 stations across Helsinki, Finland. Operated by the Helsinki City Transport, the transit system annually carries more than 62 million passengers. Managed by Helsinki City Transport (HKL), the metro begins services at 5.30 am and ends at 11.30pm (weekdays).

Metro Line 1 connects commuters from Ruoholahti to Vuosaari. Line 2 connects Ruoholahti to Mellunmäki. Worried about getting to the airport? There is a metro connection between Helsinki city centre and Helsinki Airport.Use the Journey Planner on the website to see fares, schedule and routes. The Helsinki Region Transport is working on a new ticketing and information system that will provide real time information and services online. The Travel Card system is also being renewed with new fares.

Currently, Helsinki Metro offers Single Tickets, Day Tickets and Travel Cards. Single tickets come with different variants, and for Day tickets you have 1 day to 7 day variants. The Travel cards offer massive savings for upto a year’s travel. On the website, commuters can choose the travel area that consist of Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen, Vantaa, Kerava, Sipoo, Kirkkonummi, besides others, to find ticket types and fares available. Students and disabled people enjoy special discounted fares. Tickets can be purchased at stations, retail outlets and even through vending machines.
