On Getaroom website you can find over 130,000 hotels. To search a hotel simply put the destination and input the preferred dates, rooms and number of nights on the homepage. The search results will show a number of hotels for different prices. On each listing, you will find detailed description, reviews, room features and contact details. On August 3, 2023, I booked a room at The Beeman Hotel in Dallas, TX on behalf of an executive. The reservation (#R4372122047) was made online on what fully appeared to be the hotel’s direct website. It was not until August 11, when I called the hotel to modify the reservation, that we became aware that the reservation was not made through the hotel. It was made to a third party; a third party to which we did not have a name. We had no idea who took our money. Upon learning this, I called the number listed on the email confirmation and after much prying and back & forth with the representative was I able to learn that “Getaroom” was behind the booking practices. After over 15 mins of discussion, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After holding for another 18 minutes I was ultimately disconnected. I called again and was put on hold with no greeting or acknowledgment that the call had been picked up. I called a third time and was told that I was unable to be connected to a supervisor that that time because she was busy with an influx of calls – not surprised at all! I ultimately canceled the reservation with penalty (no refund) and requested the matter be escalated and hopefully get a refund.
After taking a closer look at the website used to book the reservation it became evident that Getaroom.com hides behind the name of “Guest Reservations” where the URL which under any reasonable standard could not be called anything less than deceptive.
My flight was cancelled so I immediately called them to cancel my room. They never contacted the Hilton so they held the room and billed Priceline. They offered me $100, which I refused because they owe me 450.
This company is fraudulent. I called the number online to book a suite with Home 2 by Hilton, thinking I was actually contacting this hotel. I booked a reservation for one date and this company booked a different date in error. The charge for this reservation was on the same day I called the reservation in, so I was immediately billed. RED FLAG!. When I realized this was not done properly, I was at the hotel in another state with no reservation. I contacted this company and was told too bad, no reservation is refundable. REALLY!
In Jan. 2019 we paid $942.33 for 6 nights (Mar,17-24) @ Hospitality Suites in Scottsdale AZ. On checkout, I was given a receipt for $737.??. I asked if I would receive a refund for the difference, and the clerk looked horrified, grabbed the receipt back, folded it up and threw it away. Plus we did not get the free breakfast that was provided to other guests ($10 a day X2). What’s happened here? We booked thru GetARoom, because we were assured we would get the best price. Now I feel we have been taken advantage of, for over $200. We are retired and on a fixed, $200 is a great deal of money to us. I called to complain and was told that 3rd party booking is higher then going directly thru the hotel. We have never experienced this before, it has ALWAYS been cheaper. Case No.2693224
The receipt the clerk showed you wasn’t meant for you to see. That was the total the hotel actually charged getaroom.com for the pre-purchase of that room, in which in return, getaroom.com sells it at a higher rate to make their profit. Next time call the hotel you want to stay at, ask if they make a commission for booking a room, if not, chances are you can get a good rate, if they do, the higher they can quote you and you accept, the more commission they make.
Good Day,
We made a booking online via the Etihad Guest site as we had Guest Miles & we booked a room at The Radisson Blu in Dwarka, New Delhi for the 12/8/18 only.
The reason I send this mail is that I saw your site name on the Reservation document but when we emailed the hotel, they do not have us as booked in. We also called Etihad Call Cnt. & they still did not confirm this. Can you assist please.
I booked 3 rooms @Holiday InnExpress on 2/16/18 and at checkout was told that the charges were $102.65+tax for one and $111.89 for each of the other 2.This AM I checked my Visa account and was charged$142.82 for one and $111.89 +tax reach of the other 2.I believe a 50% overcharge must be a mistake. Please provide me with assistance in resolving this situation.I booked with you to get the best price.
