About Feroz Shah Kotla Ground
feroz-shah-kotla-groundFeroz Shah Kotla Ground is one of the oldest cricket stadiums in India, established in the year 1883. Owned and managed by the Delhi District Cricket Association, the stadium is the home ground for Delhi cricket team. Located at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in New Delhi, the stadium boasts of a seating capacity of 55,000. The ground has two ends – TATA end and ITC end.

The Kotla ground further boasts of modern sightscreens, multi-level seating system, new player pavilions and modern media center. It hosted its first Test match in the year 1948. The first ODI (between India and Sri Lanka) was held in 1982. The stadium is famous for Anil Kumble’s record of 10 wickets in a Test innings, claimed against Pakistan. Also, in 2005–06, Sachin Tendulkar broke Gavaskar’s record of most centuries in Kotla. The ground regularly hosts ODIs, Test and T-20 matches. The ground is in fact the home venue of IPL’s Delhi Daredevils.
