About Dubai Metro
Dubai Metro is a rapid transit system that began operations in 2009. It is reported to be the world’s longest automated metro system and is operatedย by the Roads and Transport Authority (Dubai). The electric trains offer comfortable seats, WiFi and state of the art safety. Each train has a Gold Class cabin with wide leather seats, carpet flooring and panoramic view. All train cars have reserved wheelchair spaces for disabled seating.
Commuters can use Nol cards to travel on all RTA modes of transport. The Nol cards can be recharged at stations or ticket vending machines. Nol card has three tiers – Silver, Gold and Blue. There is also the paper ticket, Nol Red, that can be recharged for up to 10 journeys. The ticket is valid for 90 days. RTA has discounted fares and passes for students and senior citizens. As for payment, Dubai Metro accepts Visa and MasterCard
Dubai Metro currently operatesย 87 trains that connects to more than 49 stations. The Red Line runs between Rashidiya and UAE Exchange; and the Green Line between Etisalat and Dubai Creek. There is a proposed line from Dubai International to Al Maktoum International Airport. On weekdays, the metro operates from 5:50am to 12am. On Fridays it operates from 1pm to 1am.ย For more information or queries on tickets, smartcard, payment, refund, cancellation, lost and found items, or others, reach the Dubaiย Metroย customer service.
Burj khalifa metro ticketing feedback.
This morning I wanted to top up my gold card and of the 4 machines the one I need is out of service. The other three are only able to top up by destination. I simply do not understand why there are so little machines at the station it makes absolutely no sense. This is a rapid transport system why does it not behave and act like one. Why can’t I use Apple Pay from my phone to pay for ticket.
Please note the benchmark laid by London or Moscow; their ticketing and ease of payment systems on the tube and metro. Finally as I close your actual machines are insanely complicated to use as well again go and see other rapid transit systems, you try a queue at the evening and then poor tourists struggle to figure out how to use the ticketing machines.
