About MARTA
The rapid transit system in Atlanta is managed by Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, shortly known as MARTA. Established in 1972, the public operator manages 38 stations, 4 rail lines and 92 bus routes. Serving close to 5.8 million riders every month, MARTA begins services at 4.45am and closes at 1am. On weekends, MARTA operates from 6am to 1am. The Red, Green, Blue and Gold mostly connects the Fulton, Clayton and DeKalb counties. Commuters can also use the rapid transit to reach the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. All of MARTA’s trains and rail stations are accessible for passengers with disabilities.
Those with their own vehicles can park at any of MARTA’s 24,000 parking lots at stations. Daily parking is available for free at 23 MARTA stations. Free parking is only valid for 24 hours. As for fares, you have Single Trip tickets, 1 Day Pass, 2 Day Pass, 4 Day Pass, 7 Day Pass and Monthly Pass. There are special fares for students as well as senior citizens. Those frequently using MARTA can benefit with the Breeze Card. The Breeze smartcard allows loading of multiple tickets and fares. The tickets can be used on bus as well as rail. Tickets can be purchased at manned stations or through vending machines placed near the entrance.
Use the trip planner on the website to plan your journey, see schedules and route map. For more information or queries on tickets, payment, refund, cancellation, parking, ticket passes, lost and found items, or others, reach the MARTA customer service.
I don’t feel it’s fare that during sports events that people riding west bound have to wait 15-20 min for a train to get to work! I know after an event the people need to get home but its very embarrassing to watch a H.E. holmes train go by the same way your going bit doesn’t stop! Even those trains out. Those people are going home but others trying to get to work on time. Sports events are busy but no one should have to watch trains pass you just to please those that are just going home..
I don’t know what Marta is improving on but it’s not the trains .The people who make decisions for the rider are lost.Marta riders are not getting their money worth.Marta single track on days that we as consumers have to work .Marta have and will get people fired from their jobs.
The 6:07 route 196 does not run on schedule for Lamar Hutchinson/Roberts Dr Riverdale Monday-Friday. This is happening very often. Has something occurred that prevents this route from running?? As an individual that rides Marta frequently, including for work, I’d like to know how this will be resolved. It’s outrageous that riders have to try to catch a bus an hour earlier to ensure they are able to get to their destinations in a timely manner. Please address this issue with the corporate office and not file in your junk mail. Thank you.
Would like to inform you about the excellent customer service I received from Jessica Guinn yesterday. She went beyond herself to help me locate an item left on a recent trip on Marta. She is an asset to your company.
