Good day. I have a copyright issue that I need to get some accurate information on. It concerns Atari’s copyrights to a game called Total Annihilation. Near as I can track down Atari has the rights to the game and the music soundtrack. My question is: Are you allowing the music to be used under a Creative Commons Non-Commercial ShareAlike license for use in derivative works? If so, that is great news. If not, please be aware that 13 of the 16 tracks from the game are being used in a derivative work under a CC license under the name of Sabate Guerrilla Extraordinary available for download at Free Music Archive and Jamendo. I am interested in using this music for a freeware oxp for a fan based recreation of the game Elite known as oolite that has been around since 2004 and is becoming quite a good fan based/created game. Most everything available for it is under a CC NC by SA 3.0 license and I was going to use the music from the Free Music Archive but after exhaustive searching I’m now unsure that the Sabate license is legit. Please let me know of the exact nature of the license of this music and if it is not available under a CC NC by SA license then might I persuade you to allow it to be used under such a license?
Thanks for reading this and responding to my E-mail with the information I require. Much appreciated.
