I am beside myself after totally hopeless communications with Aferry in 2020 when they refused to refund my fare due to lockdown. I am now trying to deal with my credit note for a sailing to Ireland in June. They will not accept my email address so that I can pay for my booking. They are an appalling company and if they they didn’t have £417 of my money I would never deal with them again.
I have contacted your customer service/complaints department.
The way my complaint is being dealt with is unacceptable.
Despite having sent proof that I was sent an email in February 2021 confirming a return trip to Dublin, in fact this was not the case. My original return trip was cancelled in 2020. I paid £30 to change the whole booking to 2021. In fact only the outbound leg was booked by AFerry. I only discovered this on arriving at Dublin to return to England.
Even worse, the customer service is incompetent. I have sent the confirmation email but today was told that there was no such email.
I think they hope that people will just give up because the complaint process is so hopeless !
I went online just now and discovered that I have to contact Trading Standards as they aren’t ABTA members.
At Dublin we were told that AFerry passengers frequently find that bookings have not been made despite customers having been told they have.
This is got to be the worst company I’ve ever come across. I’ve been trying to change my Bookings with no joy for the last few days not even a reply. Disgusting
Agree. Hopeless. It’s much better to simply book with the ferry companies directly
The customer services/complaints handlers don’t appear to want to resolve issues. I have had an awful time repeating the same point to them !
What a disgraceful way to treat your customers. I wish to amend my booking but can’t as the site doesn’t work. By the number of complaints about this it seems you don’t take notice of your customers feedback either.
I recently purchased tickets for a ferry traveling from Cherbourg to pool on the 7/08/19 but I accidentally misspelt my email.
Because of this I have not received any tickets for my travel but you have taken the money from my account already and need to know what to do.
I have tried to find a phone number for you but it does not work.
Please respond quickly.
I have booked tickets from Genova to Bastia for 7 people and up to date I haven’t received my confirmation reference number. Our departure date is on the 20.06.2019 and money is been withdrawn already.
Customer service is poor as the phone number provided only says to message here.
Could you please send the email confirmation along with the receipt for the payment.
Regards
I booked to Stenna Line Ferry crossing through AFerry. One was Belfast to Cairnryan on 6 February with return Holyhead to Dublin on 11 February. My plans changed and I booked direct with Stenna Line my return from Cairnryan to Belfast on 11 February. I’ve tried three times to contact AFerry through their website to cancel the Holyhead booking AFerry ref.12259137 and Stenna Ref 74144033. Despite the website promising an email reply, I have received nothing after three attempts. Can you please get in touch. This is dreadful service!!!!
Gentlemen:
I booked 2-tickest on the Aferry website yesterday, 10Jan2019.
The tickets were for: Genoa-Palermo, sailing Thursday, 27Jun2019 at 21:00. The tickets included: Cabin for 2-persons plus the Adult meal package. Total Cost: $363.09
After booking, I was able to download a sheet of paper with “Your booking confirmation” on it.
It indicated that I would receive a confirmation email.
1. I have not received a confirmation email.
2. I checked my “spam” folder and there was nothing there.
3. I went to “My Account” and the only trip listed was from 2-years ago. Then there was a reference to a current “quote” that contained the current trip planned for this June.
4. I tried to contact you and after running in circles came to this “comment” dialog box.
What is the status of my booking? (As far as I know I am all booked with you and have paid with my credit card).
I need a confirmation email from you complete with the Aferry Reference Number and the GNV Reference Number.
I need you to respond to this email immediately!
I recently booked a ferry crossing but on the confirmation sent to me you had listed my vehicle as a car and not a motorhome which I had booked. I have now been trying for 5 days to contact the company about the error through emails and phone calls without success. Can somebody from the company make contact to correct your error, thank you a puzzled customer K Gregory.
I havd bookes a ferry-ticket by AFerry on Aferry.dk.
This portal was faulty, giving the customer wrong information, which led to a los of nearly 180£.
The ferry operator, Finnlines, have accepted their part of the misinformation an refunder 50% of the onnescessary cost, but the booking company AFerry, is trying to sneak out of their part of the responcebility, even if it is a fact, that it was the Danish AFerry portal that was faulty.
The latest news, is that AFerry has blocked AFerry acount and deleted my mail correspondance with them.
Luckily I have a printed copy.
On 27 July this year I attempted to,purchase tickets on the crossing from Cairnryan to Belfast ferry to the value of £98.88 but when I had submitted my card details I was informed that there was a fault in my card and the transaction was cancelled, however on 10 August my bank statement showed that the above sum of money had been taken from my account by AFERRY LTD. I should point out that I did not receive any tickets and due to other circumstances did not use the ferry. Could you please check your systems and please arrange for the aforesaid sum of money be returned to my bank account.
This company is just impossible to contact by phone so if you have a rebooking problem as we did you are left high and dry with no help available. Much better to book direct with the ferry who have real people that you can telephone and discuss with. Avoid aferry at all costs!
Hi i am trying to change my booking ie from one adult to 2 adults travelling,
Have massage you from my account, but nothing happens I paid extra money on my card but still nothing .
Can you please sort it out.
Hi
My wife and I have used aFerry a couple of times and find it very handy but on our last travel you asked for a review and that is what I tried to do. I wrote a very nice review about our experience onboard ship but when I submitted it it said to check my comments again and wouldn’t send it. After checking the comment there was nothing in it that you wouldn’t have shown a child. Please note that I only used capital letters at the start of a sentence and full stops at the end, everything that I said was very complimentary and no derogatory remarks so why didn’t this submit, it has now put me of sending reviews. While I’m on this comment page, you say to leave a message through my account page, there’s no message point on my account page as I had to search the internet to find this comment page. Other than that I’m satisfied with the AFerry app just a little miffed.
I have accidentally booked the ferry for my daughter the wrong way and need to change it. She has been ringing you all day and is unable to change it on the website. Please contact me and tell me how to proceed.
I have been trying to make a change to my booking but there is nobody you can call by telephone and nobody replies to emails. I have an AFerry account and all I can see / do with it is see past bookings. Most frustrating.
I have been trying to find away of contacting you? I have a problem with the date of birth on my account, this came to light at cherbourg port and was pointed out by the customs officer. I am trying to book a ferry and am worried that my date of birth will be wrong again…..
I have repeatedly tried to make a ferry booking, as you are aware. But at the final hurdle it says that card authentication is being processed. ?? Can you complete this booking ? You have my credit AND debit card details. Cheers, A frustrated customer ! Alan Stephens.
