About Qutb Minar
Qutb Minar is a popular heritage site located in Delhi, India. Said to be the tallest minaret in the world, Qutb Minar stands at a height of 72.5 mtr. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and brings tens of thousands of tourists each year. The monument was started by Qutub-ud-din Aibak in 1192. It boasts of some 379 stairs and is made of Red sandstone. Initially it had three storeys, later two storeys were added.
The Iron Pillar in the Qutb Minar has been standing for over 2000 years. The minaret apparently was damaged and repaired many times in past. Visitors are allowed to enter from 7am to 5pm. There are 5 Ticket counters (Indian counters) in which 2 are running and 3 are closed. Tourist place is good but the very first experience of buying ticket is very bad and is not a good impression. I hope you take a note on this issue, else written complaint by Tourist is holding no value.
