About Kings Park & Botanic Garden
Kings Park & Botanic Garden is a popular tourist attraction in Perth, Australia. The beautiful park is spread across 400 hectares and is home to more than 25,000 plant species. Opened in the year 1895, the park was originally named as Perth Park, until 1901 when it was changed to King’s Park. Also housing the State War Memorial Precinct, the park attracts close to 6 million tourists each year.

Said to be one of the largest inner city parks in the world, the park has several bushland walk trails, parklands and children’s discovery play areas. You can visit the Information Centre for free daily guided walks or information on public transport. At the Western Australian Botanic Garden, you can explore more than 3,000 species of flora. The Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park is for children, while the Synergy Parkland is a recreation area. A short walk from Fraser Avenue Precinct takes visitors to State War Memorial and Western Australian Botanic Garden entrance.

Some of the popular walks at the park include Lotterywest Federation Walkway, Botanic Garden Discovery Walk, Memorials Walk, Law Walk, Boodja Gnarning Walk, DNA Tower Climb, Bushland Nature Trail and Kokoda Track. The Perth Explorer operates a hop on/hop off bus for visitors.

A short distance from Perth CBD, visitors to the park can access for free. Wadjuk Carpark is the main car park spot.
