About Blue Mountains National Park
Blue Mountains National Park is a geological wonderland, located in New South Wales, eastern Australia. Popular among wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers, the park is spread across 250,000 hectares and is about 60km away from Sydney. Opened in the year 1959, the park is one of the eight protected areas that is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park boasts several valleys, sandstone rock formations, rainforests and waterfalls. There are also more than hundred species of eucalypts and birds, in addition to dozens of reptiles and amphibian species. There is an estimated 1,500+ species of flowering plants as well.

The Blue Mountains National Park offers a range of activities for adventure enthusiasts. You have horseriding, mountain biking, canyoning, caving rock climbing, canoeing, among others. If you enjoy walking, there are more than 140km of trails and walking tracks including Six Foot Track, Kanangra Walls to Katoomba, National Pass, Grand Canyon Walk, Blue Gum Forest and the Anderson Fire Trail. Visitors have all the basic facilities such as toilets, picnic tables, barbeque facilities, Internet and cafe/restaurants.

Parking is available at Glenbrook, Katoomba and Mount Victoria entry points. You can park at the Blue Mountains Heritage Centre, Conservation Hut, Echo Point, Evans and Glenbrook-Nepean. As for public transportation, Blue Mountains National Park is accessible from a number of stations, including Blackheath, Glenbrook, Katoomba, Leura, and Wentworth Falls.

Park entry costs $8 per vehicle. It only applies to attractions in the Glenbrook area. You can also look for All Parks Pass, Multi-Park Pass, Country Parks Pass and Single Country Park Pass. The All Parks Pass gives you access to all parks in NSW for $190/year. You can purchase tickets at the park or directly on the website using your credit/debit card.
