Touted as the 16th busiest airport in the world, the Mexico City International Airport is also known by the name Benito Juarez International Airport. The airport primarily serves the Greater Mexico City area, connecting more than 36 million passengers internationally every year. It also serves as a major point of connection between Canada, the United States, and Latin America.

The airport structure consists of two terminals โ€“ Terminal T1 and Terminal T2. The two terminals are only two kilometres apart and are connected by AirTrain and buses. Most of the international airlines operate inside Terminal T1. However, Terminal T2 is primarily used by AeroMexico, apart from other airlines such as Copa, Aeromar, Wingo, and Delta.

Both terminals at the Mexico City International Airport house multiple cafes, and restaurants, along with a wide variety of shops that are open 24-hour duty-free. Some of the retail shops sell perfumes, clothing, newspapers, books, regional products, electronics, and other accessories. Additionally, you also get access to banking services, currency exchange agencies, convenience stores, luggage storage, portal services, VIP lounges, and emergency medical services.

What are the Available Parking Options

When it comes to vehicle parking, the Mexico City International Airport offers passengers the choice of three different parking lots, all of which are monitored using a robust security camera system. The provided parking lots offer standard amenities such as elevators, bathrooms, prepay machines, and billing areas. It should be known that preferential parking spaces and free transportation are provided to seniors, pregnant women, and handicapped people.

The first option includes Terminal 1 Domestic Parking located in front of entrances 1 and 2 of the terminal building and covering the domestic arrival area. Terminal 1 Domestic Parking is available 24 hours a day throughout the year. You can find nine prepay machines โ€“ seven at Gate A and two at Gate B. Apart from standard parking spaces, you also get access to valet parking. For more information, you can get in touch with the Terminal 1 Domestic Parking authorities at 55 5929-5044 or 55 5929-5043. Phone lines are open 24 hours a day, from Monday to Sunday.

The second option for parking includes Terminal 1 International Parking. Located next to the long-distance bus terminal and in front of the international area at the Terminal building, it provides 24 hours of service throughout the year. For more information on Terminal 1 International Parking, you can contact the authorities at 55 5910-4574 from Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day. Lastly, you can park your vehicle at the Terminal 2 parking lot, where both domestic and international flights are entertained. For any queries, you can contact the Terminal 2 parking authorities at 55 9137-3913, 55 4313-0421 or 55 4313-0448. Phone lines are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

When it comes to parking fees, all of the aforementioned terminals charge the same per minute. When parking from 0 to 30 minutes, the rate is 24 Mexican Pesos; while parking from 31 to 45 minutes, the rate goes up to 36 Mexican Pesos. On the other hand, parking from 46 minutes to 60 minutes costs 48 Mexican Pesos, and parking for 7 hours up to the first 24 hours costs 316 Mexican Pesos. If you want valet parking, an additional 49 Mexican Pesos will be added to your total. Finally, the fee for lost tickets is 357 Mexican Pesos plus permanence.

Can you Book Parking Online?

Since the Mexico City International Airport does not support online pre-booking of parking spaces, vehicle parking is done on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend that you follow the designated speed limits and signs, and also lock your vehicle’s doors when leaving it inside the parking lot. Be sure to remember the drawer number as well as the level you have parked your vehicle.

Not to mention, you have to keep your parking ticket with you at all times, since the lost ticket fee will apply if you do not. Also, do not forget to pay for the parking service at the prepay machines since there are no cash facilities available at the parking lots. Lastly, when a ticket is paid, you will have a maximum of 15 minutes to remove your vehicle from the relevant parking facility.

Third-Party Parking Facilities
