Bordered by Cambodia to the north and Malaysia to the south, the Kingdom of Thailand is a constitutional monarchy with a population of more than 70 million. The country has always been a popular tourist hotspot, owing to its rich culture and history. English is widely spoken across Thailand, even though the official language is Thai.

Besides being a stunning country for tourism, Thailand’s economy is primarily dependent on exports, accounting for more than 58 per cent of the country’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product). And since it is a newly industrialised country, Thailand is touted to be the ninth-largest economy in Asia. As of today, the primary industries that contribute to the country’s GDP include the service and industrial sectors. Some of the other notable sectors include agriculture, construction, mining, and telecommunications.

It should be known that Thailand is the second-largest economy in Southeast Asia, trailing only behind Indonesia. And it also has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world. With that being said, if you are looking to visit Thailand and have applied for a visa, then you can follow our comprehensive step-by-step guide to check its status right away.
