About Zion National Park 
Zion National Park is a true marvel to behold. The national park is located in Utah, US and is spread across 147,000 acres. Each year more than 4.5 million travellers visit the park. Established in 1919, the park is heaven for adventure and wildlife seekers. The park, governed by the National Park Service, is spread across the counties of Washington, Kane and Iron. The park was originally called Mukuntuweap National Monument.

For some facts, Zion National Park contains more than 800 native plant species, 79 different species of animals, 289 bird species and 32 species of reptiles and amphibians. Some of the breathtaking sights at the park include the tall mountains, canyons, mesas, monoliths, slot canyons, and natural arches. The Zion Canyon is one of the attractions at the park. The deep and narrow gorge is 15-mile long and is a stunning display of red sandstone mountains. Other attractions include the Great White Throne, Angel’s Landing and the Watchman. Visitors also will find two popular arches – the Crawford Arch and Kolob Arch. Other points of interest include the Zion Human History Museum, Weeping Rock, Canyon Junction, The Grotto, Court of the Patriarchs and Big Bend. If you love hiking, you can take any of the popular trails. The list includes Pa’rus Trail, Archaeology Trail, Lower Emerald Pool Trail, The Grotto Trail, Riverside Walk, Weeping Rock Trail, Watchman Trail, Sand Bench Trail, Kayenta Trail, Hidden Canyon Trail and East Rim Trail.

The park is open all through the year. The website has a summer map with guide and key landmarks. If you need help with the routes and parking, you can get the same online. The visitor centers will help you with information on weather forecasts, accommodation, camping and others. The visitor centers include the Zion Canyon visitor Center, Zion Nature Center and Kolob Canyons Visitor Center. There are shuttle services operated from the Zion Canyon Visitor Center, Temple of Sinawava and Majestic View Lodge. All shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible

For lodging, visitors at the park can head to Zion Lodge. You can book rooms, suites and cabins on the website or through phone. There is a cafe and restaurant serving food as well. There are also campground in Zion Canyon with restrooms, picnic tables and drinking water. The campgrounds consist of Watchman Campground, South Campground and Lava Point Campground. As for tickets, there is an entrance fee for individuals and separate fee for vehicles. All entrance fees are valid for seven days.
