About TxTag
TxTag is a brand operated by the Texas Department of Transportation to collect tolls in the Austin and Houston areas. The TXTag sticker can be permanently mounted to the windshield of vehicle to enjoy convenient travel through toll roads. The vehicle with TxTag can cross through toll booths and plazas without stopping to pay by cash. TxTag system is accepted at roadways that include SH 130, SH 45N, Loop 1, I-35 TEXpress Lanes, I-30 Managed Lanes, Grand Parkway – SH99, CRRMA, Austin Area and SH 45SE. The Dept of Transportation also operates the Camino Colombia (SH 255) toll road and the Grand Parkway (SH 99 Segments D, E, F-1, F-2, G, and I-2) in the Houston metro area.
Those who have registered with TxTag, prepay their tolls using Visa, MasterCard or American Express cards. Users can also sign up for AutoPay to automatically deposit money when the account is running low. Account holders can login any time to see toll expenses and balance. Customers using TxTag apparently save up to 25% on tolls. Installation details are available on the website. Note that TxTag cannot be moved between vehicles. You can order TxTag online, by phone or through mail.
