About The CW
The CW is a free-to-air American television channel founded in 2006, in Burbank, California. The channel is owned by two partners – CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. In fact the channel derives its name from the first alphabets of the two owners.
The channel follows a daytime schedule from Monday to Friday and a prime time schedule on Saturdays and Sundays. It also airs a Saturday morning show about a live action educational program. Few of the series broadcasted in this channel have gone on to win prestigious awards too.
The Jane The Virgin season 2014-15 earned such a huge critical acclaim that it became the first series in The CW to have won The Golden Globe Award. Another series in another season, the 2015-16 season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend also own critical acclaim and was awarded with the Golden Globe Award.
Presently, the channel shows some very popular series such as Riverdale, Black Lighting and Supergirl. And iZombie, Jane The Virgin are some of the old shows that The CW has renewed in the network owing to their huge popularity. It has also started a new series based on Archie comics and is known as Riverdale. The selection of shows indicates that the channel relies on superhero tales to some extent.
In fact, the success of Supergirl has nudged the channel to air similar stuff such as Batwoman. However, this does not mean that it shows only one genre of series. There is a broad genre of shows that include romantic and satirical comedies, science fiction, primetime family soap, zombies, comedies, vampires and more. It also broadcasts programs based on wildlife and lifestyle to comply with FCC’s educational programming guidelines.
While the channel does show some original series, it does not produce national news. There are only four affiliates of the channel which produce news content, but only at a local level. However, it has many affiliated television stations for serving different areas. The name of the affiliate is given in the website along with the area covered by the station. You can get the channel in those affiliate channels over cable as well as direct to home services. For more information or queries on schedule, live streaming, career, or others, reach the The CW support.
I saw in an online article that the tv series Batwoman is sinking in the ratings war. You are turning off a large portion of your audience with political opinions, and other controversial topics. Many of us come to watch for an escape from the real world. Take Smallville for example. It didn’t get political and lasted 10 years. Food for thought. Less political and controversial topics.
I’m enjoying the new Superman show, however, I’m noticing that the background music ,used to set the tone or mood of the scene, is drowning out the actual dialogue and I can’t understand what is being said. This was very noticeable in the episode on March 16th. The dynamics of the show are great, but I’d love to see a bit more action from the Blue Boy Scout. Arrow was great, and I miss it terribly. I was disappointed the Green Arrow and the Canaries wasn’t picked up. The Flash has been amazing as well. It seems that those shows drew a bit more source material from the comics.
I hated that you canceled Hellcats I thought it was very good better then Charmed ! Wish you would re consider? I rarely get interested in younger characters like these but once I started watching I couldn’t stop till I watched all of the episodes only to get to the good part of the Dad being found alive ?
Love the CW network, Except when watching on our Roku player. When we stream other channels it picks up where we left off. Not CW we have to figure what we watched last. Right now we have a scratch pad to keep up. Kind a low tech.
I want to applaud you for producing “Kung Fu.” Having such a talented Asian American cast and a great writing team, “Kung Fu”/is such an entertaining and illuminating show. In light of the recent spate of anti-Asian hate crimes in the U.S., this show goes a long way to represent a community that is not only human but relatable to all. The contemporary issues along with an intriguing mythical storyline is truly awe-inspiring. Thank you and I hope this show gets renewed. I’ve heralded it to everyone I know and have shared my enthusiasm.
Nancy Drew is the best thing on TV. The jump scares, gore and creepy stuff detract from the awesomeness of the series. The strength is the writing and how the characters relate to each other. Can’t wait to see how characters grow and how story arcs form. Would like to see more moments of levity. Kennedy McMann is a natural star and should shine in every episode. Also, the show does a good job with racial and gender diversity. Keep up the good work.
I am done watching all your shows. I have long loved watching your DC shows but will no longer watch any of your programming. I am highly offended by your depiction of white police officers in recent episodes of Batwoman. I loved season 1 and what Ruby Rose did for that character. I loved Arrow from day 1 and was excited to see if Diggle would become your version of Green Lantern. You have gotten too political with your shows now and I just can’t sit by and watch and support those stereotypical opinions.
I am writing because I am very disappointed with your lack of diversity with your TV programming. I loved that you had Black Lightning, All American, and the new Black lead for Batwoman. I was also really excited with your addition of Kung Fu. Then you decided to cancel Black Lightning. I was not as upset because I thought you were adding Pain Killer as a new spinoff. I just learned that you aren’t picking up the show. Why?? It’s not like the concept wasn’t good. The episode that starred Pain Killer was fantastic. It’s also not the fact that you have Soo many Black led shows on your network. You obviously don’t want to catch up to the times and be a network of representation or care about your non white viewership.
Please do not cancel Black Lightening. We absolutely love this show and there just has to be more to it. It can not just end like this. We don’t have the CW in out network so we have to wait until it hits Netflix. From a family of fans, please do not cancel and we’re also waiting on Van Helsing.
Please stop with all these midseason breaks. This doesn’t make any sense. Why do we keep getting 2 weeks off episodes and then another 3 weeks off. This is killing cable television for goodness sake!
Your artwork on your CW website is beautiful and professional. I am an older watcher and only became mesmerized recently. The programs are artfully done. I watch regularly in the evenings! Thank you for your shows. Love king fu.
I’m upset With your decision to cancel The Outpost, it is and was the only show currently on the CW that my husband and I watched. You have canceled The Outpost before even completing the storyline which totally sucks. We have to wait till it aired on the CW app since channel 8 is hard to get it. The merger that Cw and wttv-4 did has completely messed with my viewing ability.
Hey CW Network,
I just wanted to say please don’t cancel Legacies! I know you renewed it for a season 4 already but I am hoping you’ll renew it for future seasons! Its a great show and there is still a lot of fan base here who loves the show and are looking forward to seeing where the story goes! So please please keep renewing the show! Thanks!
The following comments are in regard to the CW series “In the Dark“. I really enjoyed season one, but I did not continue watching the following seasons because of only one, to me, important detail. The leading actress is lovely and excellent with the exception of one thing. She appears to have some problems playing a blind person. Throughout each episode, you can see her focus on people or things which is not some thing a blind person would do. If she could just get help to improve on this one thing, it would be great. If others disagree with my observation, that’s fine. Thank you.
Why hasn’t DCs Legends of Tomorrow been renewed? It’s the best show on the network!!! I am truly disappointed in whom ever makes these decisions & should be fired for not knowing what’s good.
CW doesn’t give a damn about the user experience. It’s far and away the worst app I’ve used; hard to navigate, impossible to search, takes 4x the keystrokes – but until recently at least you could watch a show. Now you can’t. Every program freezes during the first commercial break and will never load or go beyond that. This occurs on multiple platforms, Roku, Vizio, and Android to name three. I’m done with this. I will be watching CW content through, shall we say, other means from here on out oh and good luck trying to find any way of actually communicating with the company.
I dont understand just like thousands and thousands of others why you wouldn’t renew the new show the Winchesters when it’s tied for 3rd highest ranking show on th cw it would be idiotic and you’ll have alot of madd viewers. So I would think hard about renewing the Winchesters. Jackie Trusty
