Dear Tate,
I am a Tate member and regular visitor and was delighted to read in The Guardian that Tate Modern are to join an initiative offering people free tap water refills as part of the mayor of London’s plans to reduce purchases of single-use plastic bottles in the capital.
While this is admirable, I was then horrified on a visit this week to see plastic straws at the dispensing table in the Members Bar.
Surely, if the Tate are trying to set an example by tackling plastic waste, straws should be one of the first things to go?
There was other unnecessary packaging around food which you might take a look at.
Hoping for change,
Caroline Chapman
