About National Police Agency
National Police Agency is the top most law enforcement body in the Republic of China (Taiwan). It was formed in 1946 and operates from its headquarters at Taipei City. Locally known as Neizhengbu Jingzhengshu, the agency is responsible to the Ministry of the Interior. The agency oversees the NPA Units/City and County Police Departments, the squads and stations. Further, institutions subordinate to the agency include Criminal Investigation Bureau, Special Police Corps, Taiwan Special Police Corps. Other NPA units consist of National Highway Police Bureau, Harbor Police Offices, Railway Police Bureau, National Park Police Corps, Taiwan Police College and Police Armory.

Apparently, the nation’s police force has staff exceeding 73,000. The Taiwan Police College is responsible for recruiting cadets and providing the necessary education and training. The Director-General heads the National Police Agency. There are a number of police departments within the agency that are responsible for security and safety of citizens.
