About Sydney Tower
Sydney Tower, also known as Sydney Tower Eye, is a popular tourist attraction in Sydney, Australia that opened to the public in 1981. The tallest free-standing structure in Sydney, the tower has a turret that has a capacity of 960 persons. It also features two restaurants – Sydney Tower Restaurant and Sydney Tower 360. The observation deck is 820 ft above ground level. There are three double deck lifts that takes visitors to the top within seconds. There are 1504 stairs, if you want to skip the lifts.
The Sydney Tower is located just minutes away from the Town Hall Station and St James Station. It is located at the end of Pitt St and Market St. Entrance to the tower is on level five in Westfield Sydney. The place is open from 9am to 10pm. Also known as the Centrepoint Tower, the tower stands 1,014 ft above Sydney central business district and was built at a cost of Australian $26 million.
If you are visiting here for the first time, the Skywalk experience is a must for you. It is a guided tour around the outside of the building. You can also enjoy views from the Observation Deck before and after the Skywalk tour. The Skywalk + Observation Deck package includes 45 minute guided Skywalk tour, 4D cinema pre-show and internal observation deck. The standard ticket costs about $28 and includes admission to observation deck and 4D Cinema pre-show. Tickets can be purchased online through major credit cards.
