Sun Basket is a meal delivery service founded by Justine Kelly and Adam Zbar in 2014. Subscribers get organic produce, ingredients and recipes on a weekly basis. With a mission to make healthy cooking easy, Sun Basket claims it is committed to providing the best organic produce, hormone-free meats and sustainably sourced seafood from trusted vendors. Over 99% of the produce is organic. The recipes are also developed for great taste and healthy eating. The USDA-certified organic handler further uses lamb and turkey that are pasture-raised and uses organic milk, yogurt and eggs. The company operates from it’s headquarters at San Francisco, US.
The menu section on the website shows the recipes for the week. The recipes mention the servings, calories and the time for cooking. Each bags will contain the ingredients needed for the recipe you are to cook. Point by point instructions will guide on how to cook the meal, from marinating, seasoning to cooking. The recipes will also mention if it is dairy-free or gluten-free.
You will need to subscribe to a meal plan to get started. The Classic Menu plan gives three delicious recipes per week for 2 to 4 people. The plan offers vegetarian, Mediterranean, gluten-free, and lean proteins. You can choose a plan to fit your lifestyle or build your own basket each week. If you have a family, the Family Plan will give 2 to 4 recipes for a family of four.
Classic Menu subscribers have access to all 18 recipes. You can build your own basket each week by changing the recipes on Menu page. Most meals take about 30 minutes to prepare. If you want to skip a week, you can do same on the Schedule page. Deliveries are scheduled between 8am to 9pm, Monday to Thursday. Sun Basket ships to most zip codes in the US. I love the concept of your business but as a customer located in Northern Virginia I am so disappointed. More than several times the main ingredient of an entree is missing. I quit for awhile and then decided to give the company a second chance. Sadly today the main ingredients were left out of the Shrimp diablo tacos. No shrimp and to make it worse I ordered pork strips for my husband who doesn’t eat shrimp and that was also left out of the box. I called your customer service and asked for a refund of that specific item, I also asked to be removed from all future orders.
I filled out the form online to purchase, but decided not to get it. I then closed the application out. I did not hit the submit button. I then saw in my checking account that Sun Basket took out money out and was processing that order that I didn’t order. Yes, they are refunding me, but I have to wait 5-10 days for something I didn’t order!!!!.The manager and this girl Victoria were rude, kept over talking on me . Will never never do this again.
