About Skylanders
Skylanders is a game series published by California-based Activision. This action-adventure video game has been one of the most profitable game franchises in the industry. Skylanders was not only a popular title also but simultaneously sold 30 million toys. The success of the franchise has been remarkable. When Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure was launched in 2011, it took the gaming community by storm. The player could introduce new characters in the game by putting the toys of interest on to a portal. Skylanders produced 15 million toys, which were sold right around Christmas. These hand-painted toys took at least 6 weeks to re-stocked. The version ‘Spyro’s Adventure’ can be played with three toys, but people out of sheer interest drove to places to make purchases, which could enhance their collection. Activision merged with Vivendi to create the next Sypro, and they did not want anything conventional. 

As for the game, it is set in a world known as Skylands, filled with floating islands. Skylands is the centre of the universe and is under threat from the evil forces that want to rule the place, thereby gaining access to control the entire world. Skylanders, a band of heroes, with their machinery and capabilities, work to defend Skyland from threats. Skylanders work with Portal Masters in order to keep the peace intact. Battling evil and protecting the core of light are the ultimate goals. The main antagonist of the game is Kaos, and it is up to the players to stop Kaos from gaining control of the entire world. The game has incorporated ten elements of Skylands into the gameplay, and each player is associated with one element. There is air, water, fire, earth, magic, life, tech, undead, dark, and light.  Skylanders go through various levels to defeat Kaos. The versions of the game series follow similar premises and have identical storylines. Only the Nintendo 3DS has a different storyline than the console versions. 

The timeline of Skylanders started in 2011. Spyro’s Adventure was the first release in 2011, followed by Giants in 2012. Other games, Swap Force, Trap Team, SuperChargers, and Imaginators came in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, respectively. Skylanders is currently available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. The game is listed on the official website.
