Singapore Botanic Gardens is a popular tourist attraction in Singapore. The tropical garden was created in 1859 and is constantly ranked Asia’s top park attractions by TripAdvisor. Started by Sir Stamford Raffles, the garden today is managed by the National Parks Board and is a UNESCO Heritage Site. The 82-hectare is open from 5am to 12am midnight. The admission is free. You might need to however purchase a ticket for the National Orchid Garden. The Botanic Gardens is located just minutes away from Orchard Road . You have bus as well as MRT metro connecting from prime areas.
You can visit the website to download walking trail guides that range from 40 to 90 minutes in duration. There are also guided tours if you are interested. You can register for free at the Visitor Services Counter, Nassim Gate. Popular spots within the park include the Main/Tanglin Gate, the SBG Heritage Museum, Botany Centre, Swan Lake, Bandstand, Sun Garden and the Bonsai Garden. There is also the Evolution Garden, Healing Garden, Rain Forest, Palm Valley and Symphony Lake, National Orchid Garden, Ginger Garden, Fragrant Garden, Foliage Garden and Trellis Garden.
