About Shinjuku Station
Shinjuku Station is a railway station serving commuters and visitors to Shinjuku and Shibuya wards in Tokyo, Japan. It traces its history back to 1885 when it opened as a stop operated by the country’s first rail company Nippon Railway. Today, one of the the busiest in Tokyo and also the world, Shinjuku Station boasts a number of satellite stations, underground passageways, department stores and shopping centers. The five stations within the transport terminal consists of JR-East, Odakyu Electric Railway, Keio Corporation, Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway. Apparently, the station has more than 200 exits.

Tens of thousands of travelers use the station each day. Further, there are ten platforms serving 20 tracks. The major lines consist of Yamanote Line, Chuo Line, Chuo-Sobu Line, Saikyo Line, Shonan-Shinjuku Line, Keio Line, Keio New Line, Seibu Shinjuku Line, Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, Toei Shinjuku Line and Toei Oedo Line.
