About Royal Yacht Britannia
Royal Yacht Britannia is a royal yacht that was launched from the John Brown & Company shipyard in Clydebank, Scotland. It was operational from 1954 until 1997 and is said to be the last of 83 royal yachts. Also known as Her Majesty’s Yacht Britannia, the ship served as the royal yacht for Queen Elizabeth II. The ship has traveled more than a million nautical miles on 968 State visits. Currently, it is berthed in Edinburgh, Scotland and serves as a museum ship for public.
The royal yacht is open for visitors from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Highlights include the State Apartments, Royal Bedrooms, the Sun Lounge, onboard Rolls-Royce Phantom V, the Gleaming Engine Room and the Crew’s Quarters. Tickets vary for adults and children. Tickets can be purchased at the Visitor Centre or online using major credit cards. Annual Pass holders can visit any day throughout the year. Members also enjoy discounts on food and shopping.
