You’ve got a true problem in Roseboro North carolina. If you walk in a store to pick up an item or two, right at 15 minutes to 6: 00pm on a Sunday night you should not feel rushed to get out of that store, right now! Then every two or three minutes they’re announcing the time there is 15 minutes you need one item you should still be able to get it in Roses, at 5:45pm. You can lose A LOT of money, in 15 minutes. You can also make A LOT of money in 14 minutes. True managers and CEO’s understand that statement. Especially in a tiny town. Managers should also dress and act a little more professional.
The Roses store in Burnsville still has few employees, the manager & assistant managers don’t show up half the time. Every time I go to Rose’s there is only one cashier working her name is Patricia. I overheard the manager the manager talking about how most of her employees call out every day. Why not get a new manager & assistant managers?
The Rose’s Store in Burnsville NC will not make it long! Your manager don’t show up half the time & neither do half the employees. An assistant manger calls family in to help. People in Burnsville & surrounding counties love this Rose’s, but you definitely need new management!
Wow! As I read the comments about these stores the common thread is the bad management and disrespect in the Roses stores. I found the same problem in Huntsville, Al. I have never been in a store so mismanaged as the one in Huntsville. I had never heard of Roses and when I did I visited that store. I was blown away with the lack of knowledge at the register, the rudeness of the workers and the manager that could care less.
I just shopped in the Gainesville store #687 for the first time. The entire 20 minutes I was in the store the 4 employees that were working, were at the register complaining about management and complaining about their pay very loudly. I was able to hear it through the whole store. The young woman and the bald-headed man were VERY loud. They didn’t care that there were customers and didn’t even stop when I was at the register. Apparently they have no respect for management, for their customers, or even for themselves.
I have what I feel is a legitimate complaint about one of your associates in the Seaford, Delaware store. Several times now when I have stopped there to pick up a few things, she is sitting outside on the bench smoking a cigarette. It smells terrible. Even the entrance area after the automated doors open reeks of it. So we not only have to walk by this individual and smell this awful cigarette smoke, but it’s even in the area just inside the door. I do not know her name, so will describe her: young girl with long blondish hair and a loud voice; when she speaks everyone can hear her. If you have a way to check your security camera footage, it happened [yet again] on Tuesday, 5/17/2022, shortly before 11:00 am.
Why should your customers have to deal with these sorts of things?

I love the folks at the Plymouth, NC store. They are so polite when I shop on Senior Discount Day.We need more kindness in this world. Yesterday the sweet clerk failed to ring up one of my items. So I will mail the amount to you today and I will put Plymouth, NC store on it..I know it was an oversight on her part and we all make mistakes.
I am so upset about the cashiers that work in the store in Whitehall Ohio. They are nasty, disrespectful and very rude. They overcharge you and when you bring it to their attention, they want to get smart with you. I spend too much money to be disrespected. I will not shop there anymore.
You have already shortened your hours since COVID so if you are going to close at 8 then close at 8!!!! I have visited the store it Chatham, VA on more than one occasion at quarter till or 10mins till to grab one thing and run out at least, and the doors are locked. If that’s the case close at 7:30. If the store closes at 8 then close at 8!! You can announce the closing time when it’s nearing. Just to be clear I left the store walked to Dollar General had time to pull the site up and type this email and it’s only 7:55 at this very moment.
I would like to compliment a young lady that works in our local Roses here in Plymouth, NC.Store 1851.
My receipt says her name is Jerrian. I have seen her before as I shop in this store and meant to send a compliment before now. She is very polite and helpful. I am so glad to see such friendly and conscientious employees in any store. I enjoy giving compliments when I see employee’s like her doing such a good job.
The store in 5760 Wabash Ave.Wabash Shopping Center, Baltimore MD, never has enough cashiers open. I was standing in line with 2 items when a woman jumped in front of me with a full cart. When I moved in front of this woman, who had previously been standing in another long line, this woman informed me that he nephew was holding her place. The cashier #7 (on July 25, 2021) sided with the the other woman and refused to wait on me. I find this totally unacceptable., and I will never patronize this store again.
I went to store#635 in Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870. Sales Associates had an attitude like she didn’t want to be at work. The first thing I asked for was a Dinnette set and then I asked her for 5 bags of potting soil and she act like she didn’t want to ring it up. When you’re working in a public environment you need to keep your attitude at home.
I was in a Greenville store and i paid for my items the cashier asked if i would like for her to lay my items in my basket and i said yes, on my way to the door another cashier was hollering out lady did you pay for those items. I said would i be going out the door if i had not paid for my items, she said i need to see your receipt. I asked is it because i am a black woman? and she said i just need to see your receipt the manager just stood there looking stupid.
Went to Roses in Morganton NC and picked up two items, only had two checkout ladies and I went to the checkout with only one person in front of me, light was on indicating checkout was open. As I stood there checkout lady named Jo turned off light and told me she was closing and for me to go to other line, I looked over and seven people were in that line. I laid two items down and told her she should have checked me out before closing for a break because her light was on as I stood in her lane. Was responded back rudely. If that is the way I am treated
Roses does not need my business.
Was discriminated on by the manager at store 695. While talking to another employee, she cursed and ranted over me touching rugs and saying “if your not going to buy it then you shouldn’t touch it.” Then went to check out and the cashier threw my bag of purchased items on the floor and waited for me to pick it up. Will not be going back.
I have been trying to get one of the brown gazebo since the 1st day they went on display. The guy at Candler Rd said he had 1to come next day. I went back on Wednesday like he said. No gazebos. I rushed over to the store on Mt. Zion no gazebos. Been going in both stores every week to check still no gazebos. I asked if I can buy the displays in both stores cashier say no. I believe what happened is the employees take the items before customers.
You have a very rude manager at Rose’s department store in Winston-Salem North Carolina on Patterson Avenue. Her name is Sylvia. I went to purchase my granddaughter a sheet set. At first I didn’t see any Queen sheets… the end of the row I saw some. On that shelf was twin Queen full and there was some more full and queen size at the end so when I took the queen out of that row, I noticed the package said $14.99. When I got to the cash register I asked why does the sign say that all the sheet sets are $9.99 and on the package is saying $14.99. The manager said in a very rude and hateful way you must have got it off a different shelf. She said I want you to show me where you got it from…after I showed her she said these other ones are in the wrong place and she started moving all the sheets…I grit my teeth because it took everything in me not to tell the woman about herself and I don’t know who she thinks she was talking to in that tone of voice. I looked at her other customers hurt by her, she was very loud, obnoxious and hateful. I’m writing this review because I’ve never and I will repeat never been talked to in that form or fashion and I will not tolerate it.
Visited store #310, Cashier Carmen according to the receipt. My 1st visit was great, until I got home and realized the security tag was still on a two shirt pack. I had to return to get it removed. This really was not an issue until the cashier was not apologetic or I’m sorry you had to come back for this to be removed. Customer service has gone down hill.
I had an experience at your store in West Mifflin PA that does not bode well for your company. The experience started with the cashier ringing up my $9.99 purchase and my giving him a $20 bill. It was a dress where there was no tax involved. He tried to hand me a receipt and said two dollars and something change and I said two dollars. He looked at the receipt and saw that he had double rang it. So he rang it up again or did something and then he tried to give me eight dollars and some sent change. Knowing that I should have had at least $10.01 change I told him something was still wrong. He called for a manager the manager helped him do something on the register and I still had the wrong amount of change coming to me. So the manager tried to explain that it was senior discount day and that I am this is the way the computer rang it up and then she went on and along with a lot of stupidity. I told her it didn’t matter what was going on if I bought a $9.99 dress and gave him a $20 bill that I should have $10.01 change. She kept going on and on about the computer and the register and computers being right. Then she said it was senior day and that there was a discount. I told her well if there was a discount than I should have more money not less. At this point she was exasperated and called another manager. He was befuddled for a moment but finally rang the purchase and it turned out that it was senior discount day and the dress cost was discounted $1.00.
He finally got it right. I told the second manager that there is no reason for so much confusion and spending 15 minutes at a register for such a simple purchase. I also said that if people can’t count and use common sense there’s a problem. I also told him that people come into that store who do not even speak English. Cashiers should be able to think things through and recognize when there is a mistake without causing a big commotion and a long back up in lines and a customer to be exasperated as I was today. I may not be explaining this quite correctly but I do want you to know that it is not acceptable for such a simple purchase with simple math. $20.00-$9.99 -$1.00 discount should not be hard to figure out without there personal. Customers should be able to have assurance that they are getting honest service the first time.
ON 3/18/21 I purchased 2 slips and a skirt from your store in Bogalusa La. was not allowed a try on but asked before I purchased if I could return them if they did not fit , the employee told me I had up to 30 days to return for an exchange or a refund, when I went back to return for an exchange or a refund the manager would not return or exchange because she said it is the policy of the company, if this is the case then why does it say on the receipt you have up to 30 days. This is a poor policy and I don’t see how you can get away with this and I will report to the BBB.
I purchased a microwave from your store in Thomasville GA on 11/01/2020. The microwave stopped working on 02/01/2021. I contacted the store and was told because it was purchased over 30 days ago there was nothing that could be done. Rose’s does not offer a device protection plan like other retailers. I wasted $70.00. The manager that I spoke today needs some serious customer service training. I will NEVER purchase an appliance from Rose’s again.
Today I was shopping at the Myrtle Beach Store and want to complement one of your employees. His name is Davon. He was very pleasant and helpful. In fact, when he was at the cashier’s desk checking me out the telephone rang. He answered the phone and politely told the person on the call to hold on a minute as I have a customer in line and as soon as I check her out, I will be right back. He handed me my receipt and immediately answered the telephone call. I thought that was so nice. Sometimes when I am in a store and the phone rings, the cashier leaves the customer waiting and answers the call first. I never understood that. I just wanted to say GOOD JOB DAVON.
Love your stores but went to the one in West Mifflin. Employees had masks but were not wearing them They were on their necks and they were behind the plexiglass. As a nurse who cares for covid patients I am asking you to speak to them. One lady had a bad cough and no mask on. For their safety as well as TGE customers please ask them to wear their masks properly. Be safe and well and have a great holiday season
