About Philippine National Railways (PNR)
Philippine National Railways (PNR) is a state-owned enterprise that manages passenger transport in the largest island of Luzon in Philippines. Locally popular as Pambansang Daambakal ng Pilipinas, the railway company though boasts a history of more than 125 years, officially began as Philippine National Railways in the year 1964. Currently, it operates two commuter rail services – one in Metro Manila and the other in Bicol Region. The rail lines that are operational consist of the North Main Line (Green Line) and South Main Line (Orange Line). They are used by commuters in the Manila metropolitan area, Laguna, Quezon, Camarines Sur and Albay. In the past, PNR also served Tarlac, Bulacan, La Union, Batangas, Pampanga and Nueva Eija.
