About Penang Hill
Penang Hill is a hill resort in Malaysia. It comprises of several hills that include Strawberry Hill, Halliburton’s Hill, Flagstaff Hill, Government Hill , Tiger Hill,and Western Hill. One of the oldest colonial hill station in the country, Penang Hill is locally known as Bukit Bendera. The highest hill in the Penang Island is accessible by the Penang Hill Railway. The funicular train service takes about half an hour. The train runs from 6.30am to 7pm and can carry up to 100 passengers at one time. Single adult fares for locals start at RM 8. The train starts at the Air Itam station.
Founded by Sir Francis Light, the hill is set 821m above Penang’s capital. Popular treks at the hills include the Moongate Trail, trail from Air Itam Dam to Tiger Hill, trail from Hye Keat Estate and trail from the Municipal Park. About 100 species of the birds found on Penang Island are found in this region. Visitors also can sight wild boars, monkeys, tree shrews, flying lemurs, flying civets, bats, among others. If you are a bird lover, there is a bird sanctuary at the Bellevue Hotel grounds you can visit. The Bellevue Bird Park is open all days from 9am to 6pm. Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to complain about the way I and my family was treated by your security guard (Indian guy) at Penang Hill.
On 26 Jun 2017, after the long queue just to get on the train to go back, me, my son and my husband been blocked by one of the hindu muslim passenger from enter into the train and she said already full , whereas a lot of empty sits available during that time. I explained to her there still a lot of empty sits and is free sitting. After we get in, one of them yelled at us while we just having a normal conversation. Later another guy from them kicked toward my husband. Train workers come over to resolve the situation and the security guard get into train and tried to punch my husband. Luckily they managed to hold onto the security guard to avoid the incident happen.
We were shocked by his behaviour, how can the security guard so unprofessional and intended to hit customer?
This was the worst experience ever.
