Went to Odeon Southampton on 19th October 2021to watch the new James Bond Film and we were in screen4. From the very start of the film it looked as if the screen itself was dirty and grainy. The images were not as clear as you would expect. I do know what is entailed in cleaning the screen but it did look like this needed to be carried out. It did spoil the enjoyment of watching this film on a big screen.
Went to see the Bond film today at Tunbridge Wells for the 1.20pm showing. I guess lots saw it here over the weekend and today is Monday. Insisted on using can for sweets and coke which the girl was very grumpy about. There’s only pick and mix but nearly every bin was empty. No sweet popcorn at all and no coffee because the machine was being fixed by a grumpy man. There were at least 9 or 10 staff around but none interested in engaging with the customers. They mostly wore masks. We did witness them picking up litter. However, and this was disgraceful in these Covid times, the handles and push pads on the two sets of doors in to screen 9 were very very mucky. I can’t speak for the other screens but presumably they were equally dirty. Look after your customers, care about your customers. If you do not your business will not survive.
Dear Sir/Madam
I recently went to the Odeon Cinema in Derby with my husband. I purchased the tickets the previous day to avoid the queue or so I thought. However when we arrived we went to the counter to buy soft drinks only to be told that we had to join the queue for both food and drinks and tickets. In order to avoid missing the start of the film we declined which was annoying. Why is there no box office in this cinema and why is there not a separate counter for food and drink. Surely this would help to keep the queues down. Also we had to register our car in the car park which we have never had to do before. My husband was not happy and has declared he will never use this cinema again.
Went to see the Film – 2D X-Men Dark Phoenix on 22 June 2019, 2:45 pm – Leicester. There were 3 kids who were making a lot of noise throughout the first half of the film, switched the light on in the Auditorium. Also 4/5 kids who were using their mobile phone with flash and also standing on the newly installed reclining seats. My wife and I did not enjoy the film as a result of the disruption by these kid who were not were around 10 years or so.
There was no staff present.
Once we had seen the Film, my wife and I approached a member of staff and asked that we speak with the Manager – whose name was Aimee. We explained what had happened and se responded as follows:
– We are short of staff thus we cannot be everywhere
– Have 12 screens and thus cannot manage/look after the number of customers coming through
– Apologised and stated that there is nothing she can do
– We responded that we will write to the Area Manager
– Please do
– It would appear that Aimee was not concerned with our experience and we do not believe that she’s managing the staff as well as a Manager should.
– She did not appear to be genuinely concerned about our experience and service we had received.
– The other staff were generally talking to each other while serving or taking a lot of time to serve – service was very slow!!!
Would appreciate your comments prior to taking further action.
Dear Sir / Madam,
I wish to make a complaint reference your discrimination against those of us who do not have a computer. I used to use the local Leicester Mercury paper to check film times etc but you no longer advertise in there. So ntil recently I would access your website on my phone and / or ring the local cinema. However you appear to have updated / moved your website so I am no longer able to access it and now I find I ring the number and you are just referring people to your website. This is unacceptable customer service. There are still many people who do no have access to a computer and although I do not mind visiting the local library to use there pc this is not always convenient.
I am tired or companies assuming / forcing people down the route to use the internet just to save you money and lose people their valuable jobs. No jobs (which is the wy it is rapidly going) = no customers as they’ll have no money or people will just watch at home via sky etc if they do have a pc.
Yours faithfully
Ms J Moore
Just came back from seeing the new avengers movie in Camden town. The film seemed great but was ruined by the faulty speaker right above my head which had a cracking sound coming from it for most of the film. I sat and suffered it as I had been waiting a long time to see the movie but must say I am gutted. Keep having problems with this cinema. May have to try somewhere else in future.
How can I contact odeon to make a complaint please? I can’t find an email anywhere! Please would you contact me through my email that you now have.
On Saturday i paid an extortionate price for one adult and one child to see a film and left resolute that i would not walk 5 minutes from my house to use that cinema ever again.
We bought popcorn, took our seat, than my granchild asked for a drink.
I asked him to stay in his seat while i went to reception to get the drink.
There was only one person serving and 4 people waiting. After asking if there was anyone else serving eventually someone else arrived but it took a long time. I do not feel comfortable leaving a child in their seat for more that a few minutes and it should not take more than a few minutes to purchase a drink.
I picked up a fruit shoot and was told that i cannot buy it as its part of a purchase deal.
I was then told that i could purchase the fruit shoot that was in the fridge.
The whole thing is ridiculous.
A paying so much
B the lack of serving staff
C not allowed to buy the fruit shoot.
Unfortunately all of this leads me to believe that the complacency within the Odean group will lead to their demise along with many other high street companies and no one will be surprised.
In the future i will drive to Peckham cinema pay £5.00 and get a better service.
Thanks
I can’t claim that I regularly go to the cinema these days, but one main reason why I don’t go more often is the worry that my enjoyment will be spoiled by the noise and other distractions of people around me. I know that lots of other people feel the same, judging by the reaction you get if someone is talking loudly or noisily eating popcorn next to you(see post above for evidence!).
My question therefore is why don’t cinemas (such as the Odeon chain) have the facility for arm rest jacks to plug in earphones so that you can experience the full sound quality of the film without hearing distractions around you? I would have thought the technology would be quite simple to install and almost everybody has their own set of earphones these days which they could bring with them and plug in.
Am I alone in thinking this would be a good idea which would encourage more people to visit their local cinema? I know I certainly would!
I want to cancel my odeon subscription. I had spoken with your representative in January about the same. they asked me to send evidence because I was leaving uk for good. please can you provide me the email address. I have left the country on 22nd feb and will not be using this card anymore.
I have tried for three days to book some cinema seats at Odeon Tunbridge Wells. Everything goes well until I try to pay by credit card and I get an OOps.. message. I even rang them on Saturday and was promised it would be fixed by 6:00 pm but still today it doesn’t work. This site has worked for years so why should it go wrong and take days to fix now?
I visited with my daughter today to watch Ferdinand the movie at the Southampton Odeon. From start to finish a man to the left of us was continually shouting out and making verbal noises. It really made our visit iun enjoyable. Mentioned to Odeon staff on the way out they said to email Odeon to complain. Sunday afternoon film with my daughter totally ruined.
