About Night Safari
Night Safari is a popular nocturnal zoo in Singapore that was opened in 1994. Spread across 99 acres, the park is said to be the world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals. It boasts of more than 2,500 animals of over 130 species. Annually, Night Safari welcomes 1.1 million visitors. Endangered species it has bred include red Malayan tigers, Asian elephants, fishing cats, red dholes, clouded leopards, anoas, markhors, bantengs, Malayan tapirs and Asian lions. The place is managed by the Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS).
Night Safari is divided into seven geographical zones. You can explore them on foot or on a tram with live commentary. There are also four walking trails – Fishing Cat, Leopard, East Lodge and Wallaby. The guided tram tours takes you through Himalayan Foothills, Indian Subcontinent, Equatorial Africa, Asian Riverine Forest, Nepalese River Valley and Burmese Hillside. Tickets for admission vary for adults, children and senior citizens. Adult tickets sell at S$45. You can purchase tickets online on discount. The park is open from 7.15pm to 12am midnight.
As for reaching the place, you can travel via Central Expressway (CTE) from the city, bus as well as MRT on the North-South (Red) line. Choa Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio and Marsiling are the nearest MRT stations. For bus services to and from most hotels and various locations in the city, you can ask for the SAEx Direct Express bus services.
