About Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is a popular tourist destination located on the border between Canada and the United States. It is a set of three waterfalls that together make up the Niagara Falls on the Niagara River. They consist of The Canadian Horseshoe Falls, The American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. Each year more than 12 million visit the spot. June, July and August constitute the peak season. The location can be accessed for free all year around.
The second largest fall in the world, Niagara Falls has a length of 1060 feet and height of 176 feet. First discovered by local Native Americans, Niagara Falls is said to have formed more than 12,000 years ago. The energy from the Niagara River has been able to generate hydro-electric power that serves the electrical needs of Southern Ontario and Western New York.
