About National Gallery
The National Gallery in London, UK, is a famous art gallery that houses some of the magnificent European paintings from around the world. Located in Trafalgar Square, the art museum was opened in the year 1824. One of the top five tourist attractions in the country, the National Gallery houses over 2,300 paintings, from the mid-13th century to 1900. The gallery is open daily from 10am to 6pm.
Some of the famous works you can spot here include Eyck’s Arnolfini Portrait, Velazquez’s Rokeby Venus, Turner’s Fighting Temeraire and Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. The collections are divided into 13th- to 15th-century paintings; 16th-century paintings; 17th-century paintings; and 18th- to early 20th-century paintings.
Some of the top artists featured include Johannes Vermeer, Titian, Paul Cezanne, Georges Seurat, Claude Monet, Giovanni Bellini, Anthony van Dyck, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Thomas Gainsborough, Claude, Peter Paul Rubens, Jan van Eyck, Michelangelo, Raphael, Diego Velazquez, Leonardo da Vinci and George Stubbs.

While entrance to the main gallery is free, there will be a fee for exhibitions.
