About Munich U-Bahn
Munich U-Bahn is a German rapid transit system founded in the year 1971. The service operates in Munich, Germany, and transports over 400 million commuters each year. Operated by Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft, the rapid transit system runs on 8 lines, connecting to 96 stations.
The lines consist of U1 (Olympia-Einkaufszentrum – Mangfallplatz), U2 (Feldmoching – Messestadt Ost), U3 (Moosach – Fürstenried West), U4 (Westendstraße – Arabellapark), U5 (Laimer Platz – Neuperlach Süd), U6 (Garching-Forschungszentrum – Klinikum Großhadern), U7 (Westfriedhof – Neuperlach Zentrum) and U8 (Olympiazentrum – Sendlinger Tor).
You have single journey tickets and round trip tickets. Fares depend on the zones. Other Day Tickets, include Group Day Ticket, Children’s Day Ticket, CityTourCard, QueerCityPass, Airport-City-Day-Ticket and Multiday Tickets. Frequent travellers can purchase IsarCard to hold weekly or monthly pass.
