Operated by Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft, the rapid transit system runs on 8 lines, connecting to 96 stations.

The lines consist of U1 (Olympia-Einkaufszentrum – Mangfallplatz), U2 (Feldmoching – Messestadt Ost), U3 (Moosach – Fürstenried West), U4 (Westendstraße – Arabellapark), U5 (Laimer Platz – Neuperlach Süd), U6 (Garching-Forschungszentrum – Klinikum Großhadern), U7 (Westfriedhof – Neuperlach Zentrum) and U8 (Olympiazentrum – Sendlinger Tor).

You have single journey tickets and round trip tickets. Fares depend on the zones. Other Day Tickets, include Group Day Ticket, Children’s Day Ticket, CityTourCard, QueerCityPass, Airport-City-Day-Ticket and Multiday Tickets. Frequent travellers can purchase IsarCard to hold weekly or monthly pass.
