The subway network in Hong Kong is managed by the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) that began operations in the year 1910. MTR manages the bus, heavy rail, light rail and inter-city railway services. The railway operator serves over 5.5 million passengers on a weekday. MTR operates over 22 light and heavy rail lines.
