MTR Hong Kong Subway customer serviceThe subway network in Hong Kong is managed by the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) that began operations in the year 1910. MTR manages the bus, heavy rail, light rail and inter-city railway services. The railway operator serves over 5.5 million passengers on a weekday. MTR operates over 22 light and heavy rail lines. The railway services can be used to even connect from Hong Kong to Guangdong province, Beijing, Foshan and Shanghai.The entire MTR system has 87 stations and 68 Light Rail stops. The MTR also operates the Airport Express that provides fastest connections to Hong Kong International Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo. Complimentary services for passengers include free porter service, shuttle bus service, parking, free MTR connections and in-train Wi-Fi service.

As for the network, it consists of Kwun Tong Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Island Line, Tseung Kwan O Line, Tung Chung Line, Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line, East Rail Line, West Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line. As for fares, you have regular single journey tickets (First Class compartments available on some lines), Day Pass, Monthly Pass and MTR City Saver (valid for up to 30 days). Get the electronic card Octopus to load tickets and conveniently travel across MTR, Airport Express, Light Rail, buses and ferries. Tickets can be purchased at stations, vending machines or at retail stores.
