About McDonald’s (UK)
McDonald’s Corporation, an American fast-food chain company, was founded in 1940. The company is headquartered in the US and has a global presence. Started by Maurice and Richard McDonald in San Bernardino, the business set out as a hamburger stand and later expanded into the largest franchise the world has ever known. McDonald’s is the world’s largest food franchise chain in terms of revenue. With its presence across 100 countries, McDonald’s serves as many as 69 million customers each day through its 37,855 outlets. In the United Kingdom, McDonald’s has got 1270 restaurants and is currently employing more than 120,000 people. The fast-food chain established its foothold in the UK back in 1974 when it opened its first restaurant in Woolwich, North East London. This followed a chain of marketing initiatives that led to the unabated success of McDonald’s in this part of the world. The first advertisement hit the screen in 1975, and it was in 1976, that the UK saw the first TV advertisement for McDonald’s on their screens. In 1983, McDonald’s opened its 100th restaurant in Market Street, Manchester. McDonald’s is known for its customization of the menu to suit the local taste, and that is what became the success ladder for the fast-food giant in the United Kingdom. In 2018, McDonald’s recorded a profit of £341 million and a total turnover of £1.6 billion.Â
McDonald’s is synonymous with constancy and innovation both in terms of food and growth style. The company has always reiterated that consistency in terms of core components of the business does not mean that you have to keep selling the same products or keep delivering the same way. It also meant having a foundation so strong that you can tweak the product without causing disruptions in the delivery network. In 1975, when soldiers from a certain locale were not allowed to get out of the car while wearing fatigues, McDonald’s came across with its famous ‘Drive-Thru’ solution. In the United Kingdom, McDonald’s has got everything covered, from burgers to breakfast. Some of the best-selling and constantly available items on the McDonald’s UK menu includes Double Big Mac, Cheese Melt Dippers, Jerk Chicken Sandwich, Breakfast Roll with Ketchup, Crispy Chicken Salad, Crispy Chicken and Bacon Salad, Breakfast Roll with Brown Sauce, Triple cheeseburger, Muffin with Jam, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Apple Pie, Millionaire’s Donut, Chicken Legend, Reindeer Treats Carrot Bag, The BBQ and Bacon Chicken One, The Sweet Chilli Chicken One, Vegetable Deluxe and a variety of beverages.
McDonald’s UK provides a dedicated breakfast menu to its customers. You can find great deals for students and burger-loving customers on the official website of McDonald’s UK. Customers can download the McDonald’s app to order food without any hassle. The app is available on Google Play and the App Store. You can also locate the nearest McDonald’s outlet with the help of the website and app. Ordering is easier than ever with McDelivery. All you need is to punch in your delivery address, add the items from the menu, and make payment. You can also order food from McDonald’s via Uber Eats or the Just Eat app. If you have any complaints regarding the delivery or quality of food, you can contact the outlet manager or call the dedicated customer service number to register your complaint.
I would like to make a complaint about the Huddersfield Road, Oldham store. On more than five occasions now when i have placed an order through Just Eat when its arrived its wrong, now its upsetting and very annoying when this happens because no body seems to take any responsibility. Today i spent £25.00 on my order and received no food only 4 drinks and 3 Mcflurries that i never ordered, so i call the store to be told there is nothing they can do once just eat take it from the store. This as i said before is absolutely ridiculous and not the first time. Two families have been left with wrong orders and no food…having spent a lot of money. I really think its time you sorted the delivery service.
I am getting fed up with ordering a large latte and receiving a watered down version. I went to Boundary Road, Norwich today at 11.52.,and ordered two meals and two large lattes for my wife and I. As I was waiting in the drive- through I could just see the staff member at the coffee machine. The machine stopped pouring and then a button was held down, apparently topping up the drink. When we stopped to eat our meal in the car I found that one latte was only the size of a regular coffee and tasted very watery, the other was full to the brim and I nearly spilt the liquid when I took the lid off. My wife found the drink very watery and hardly tasted of coffee at all.
This was not an isolated incident as I have had watery lattes on several occasions in several other of your restaurants in the area, taken them back, only to be presented with another watery one. It appears that when the machines are not operating correctly staff just top up with water. If there is a problem and they have to top up, then for a latte this should be done with milk otherwise I am paying for a latte and getting a white coffee and a poor one at that which is not acceptable.
When the machines are working properly the latter is great but I resent paying latte money for a poor white coffee.
To make matters worse the chips were cold but I will not say more on that.
McDonalds on Oxford street is atrocious . The addicts and homeless demand money the minute you approach the store. Outside it looks like skid row.
I paid for a large toffee latte at McDonald’s inside Asda Wembley, and I received normal toffee in a large cup. I told shift manager (named Ildico) about this and she said she can assure me it is the right size. How can it be the right size almost half of the large cup empty. It’s not first time I’m buying large drinks from McDonald’s.
Ordered a meal from Mcdonalds Westcroft Milton Keynes for delivery, ordered apple pies which were not included in the meal. I tried contacting customer services through the app but the virtual assistant kept telling me the meal was ordered through Uber Eats, which is wasn’t. I ordered through the app so I can’t even submit a complaint. This isn’t the first time Westcroft Milton Keynes have got the order wrong, can’t believe the type of people the company have hired to run the business, absolutely shambolic.
Placed an order on the app to collect my food, drove 10 minutes to the restaurant but when I got there the staff were putting up posters stating the store was closed, I knocked on the doors but the staff just ignored me, I returned to my car and then received a message stating ” thanks for collecting your order” so I returned back to the doors where again the staff completely ignored me, when I drove back home I got a text to say the payment for my order had been taken out my bank account!! I rang Stanley franchise and they told me they were closed due to maintenance! I asked for my refund and they stated there was nothing they could do and I have to ring customer services, I rang but they were closed!! I’m furious at they’ve left me with no money to go to another restaurant! Absolutely appalling customer service from the staff by completely ignoring me and refusing to help get my food or refund!
I visited Talbot Green store today for a Birthday treat breakfast for my Nan. I am only eleven years old and I really wanted to enjoy the breakfast. Firstly there were no pancakes and then when I had my cheese and bacon flapjack without the cheese as I have dietary needs there was very little bacon so I went back to the counter and they did me a new one which was fine. Please can we have the pancakes back?
Remember when Mc Donald’s used be fast food? Waited 15 mins for a double cheeseburger and a coffee, ended up cancelling the order. Need to decide are you a restaurant or a delivery service, because it is obvious you can’t do both.
We ordered through Uber Eats and when the order arrived my daughters meal was missing the cookie and the wrap was made up incorrectly. She had requested no mayo but wanted lettuce. It came without lettuce but with mayo. I have spent the last twenty minutes trying to contact the branch it came from. Nobody is answering the phone and it is now a constant engaged tone. She has received a refund for the cookie but the user eats site will not allow her to get a refund on her wrap but more importantly she is left without her tea. This is not good customer service at all.
Very disappointed with the incomplete meal. Just visited today to Mc Donald’s hayes lombardy retail. Ordered a quite a lot of food through drive way for the whole family. When reached home realised they have given us only 6 spicy chicken nuggets instead of 9 for one of the meals we paid for. My daughter who have just returned from school was very disappointed so I decided to take her back to the branch to report the issue. Altough it is quite far from home and it was rush hour. When reached there we explained the situation to one of the guys at the front counter. He then went to member of staff in the kitchen I assume may be the branch manager. She wanted to see the proof luckily we had receipt. What was expected a apology from the member of staff and correct food. But we had was no apology instead faces made by kitchen staff. We got 3 nuggets. But the behaviour by kitchen staff was not good I thought I would take my child to see what actually is customer service and learn values but we experienced was one really a bad experience not expected from a staff working for company like McDonald’s. Not happy at all. Poor customer service.
The drive through at the Wythenshawe branch is absolutely ridiculous and dangerous, there needs to be bollards added to ensure that people are able to get round to the car park rather than people blocking up the road because they don’t wish to queue in the correct lane? When people decide to push in it stops others from getting round which then ends up blocking up the whole road? There are already issues with the amount of cars there since the delivery started, this just adds to a bad situation. Fast food isn’t really fast food when you queue for 30 mins to get in, and then because the road is blocked you queue again to get out?
Just a quick thank you for STEFAN at McDonalds Doncaster Dome, who sorted out my query about a problem with my breakfast in a most professional and cheerful manner. In doing so he not only turned a difficult situation into positive one, but also earned the respect of this customer. He is a credit to your organisation and I would like you to register my appreciation for his 5-Star Customer service.
I would like to raise some concerns. After a few recent visits to your restaurant I’m coming to the conclusion that deliveries are taking precedent over others, stood waiting for my food getting pushed out by ignorant delivery drivers, makes the whole experience of the visits for families unpleasant, 4 different customers including us are on the verge of no return. The staff try to calm the situation but to no avail. I’m sure there can be a system in place for drivers to wait for there orders instead of intimidating families who actually take the time to visit, this is our experience in 3 Stoke-on-Trent restaurants within 2 weeks.
I have been going to your Exeter high street branch for the last two months. There has been no frappe’s no milkshakes no McFlurrys no hot chocolate no iced coolers. What is the problem. I have seen many crusty walk away with not because of this you must be lost a lot of money.
I put a order in on your app and it said pay now £11.29 so I proceeded with Apple Pay to see £17.26 has been taken out my bank? You’ve charge VAT and delivery where none of this was mention otherwise I wouldn’t of gone ahead with this order. Can someone please email me back. I was told if I cancel the order I’d still be charged!!
I do not wish to make a complaint I have looked everywhere to find a page where I can praise a young man at my local McDonald’s, we were eating in however we had problems with our order but MATTHEW sorted them out for us with a smile. He was extremely apologetic even though it wasn’t his fault,he was extremely well mannered and McDonald’s should be proud to have him as a member of their staff. The McDonald’s I’m talking about is Middleton Manchester.
The disappointment of an incomplete meal. Weeks of moaning from the kids and waiting for the return of the big tasty. Attended our local Stoke on Trent McDonald’s for the long anticipated big tasty BBQ . What a let down dinner rush so expected a delay waited patiently to receive my BBQ big tasty sat down opened the box and no onions and the smallest helping of BBQ sauce I’ve ever seen only just made it out . Returned to the counter for a replacement to be brought to me . Kids had already finished and waited patiently for me took a bite to find cold raw onions. Crunchy not crispy . I give up anyone thinking of having the big tasty BBQ don’t bother . I’ll go the burger van next time they actually cook the onions
I think the toys are rubbish. I think if you gave some seeds and recyclable pot…that’s more better to save the planet than giving a cardboard toy.
