McD is the best. Especially Ghandi Square, they have amazing crew. Please allow me to say this, the lady by the name of Peletina has been there for years now and she’s fast, good with customers, when I see her in front there by the counter I must come in to buy cause I know everything will be perfect, from the food and service. On Friday 24/08/2018 I went to MacDonalds (Dolphins Leap in PE) with my family to order some Big Macs in all its different variants.
I was told that the Big Mac Jnr as well as the Grand Big Mac were no longer on offer. Although it was still being advertised extensively in store. When I asked if the store would have stock tomorrow, the lady behind the counter simply said no, the offer has ended.
Why then, was it still advertised so extensively in store. And why oh why did the advert run on TV on 25/08/2018?

I went to McDonald Norkem Park on the 25 August 2018 at 10:49am we ordered 2 x mc chickens meal – well the staff were too busy talking and carrying that my food stood there for 10 minutes before they called my number and when i complained they just looked at me and carried on talking, i also got cream sodas and it was warm, the food was cold and awful that i gave it away to a homeless person. Order number 3180..The staff could not have cared less, and i was not the only person complaining at the time….I await your reply
McDonald’s at Middelburg Mall used to have excellent service and good food.. these days they are extremely slow. Went to get a breakfast this morning and they have NO coffee, lattes or Orange Juice (even though it’s on the menu). Very disappointed. They won’t see me again soon
Good day to whom it may concern today i experienced or witness something absolutely appauling and horrifying at the mcdonalds store in tokai. I was there to purchase meals for my family when i saw one of the employees taking food to a drive through customer waiting outside as she walked pass the counter she dropped the bag of food on the floor in front of a store full of customers she just picked it up a took it to the customer waiting in her car and with the customer none the wiser took the food and left i can promise you if that happened to me i would be on the line with consumer complaints department of south africa hence the reason i will never buy my food at a drive through because you dony know what they do with your food
I have now for the the 2nd time in a week been let down with your delivery service. On the 24th Sept we placed an order which arrived 3hrs later needless to say ice cold. This evening 30th Sept we placed an order at 19:15 and its 21:00 and the food has yet to arrive, after phoning your call center and being put on hold for 5min i was asked to call back in 15min (at my call cost). I refused to call back and told the consultant that once he found out where i food is that he should call me back, again needless to say i was not called and the food arrived only at 21:15. ICE COLD!!!!!
I bougt a nuggets meal yesterday (1 October) in the morning and was so disappointed as the chicken nuggets were hard, dry and could not be esaten by my 4year old grandson. I thought it was just a once off as I buy his often, late afternoon I tried again and the same problem. I am highly disappointed when wanting to buy meals for my family on Saturday 29/09/2018 at McDonalds Greenpoint in Cape Town. (ended up cancelling the meals, only took ice creams for the kids, will not have my family get sick because of a well known fast food place being unhygienic)
The place is invested with RATS, and no staff member or manager ( Siphamandla- manager on duty) knew about it, it is disgusting, the rats are running around there and also saw dead rats, took photos of it.
How do you expect people to even go and buy food at that McDonalds? It is unhygienic and could lead to so many illnesses.
I will not advise any of my family members, friends and colleagues to go there ever.
As a matter of urgency, can you please do something about it?
Can you please respond to this within 24hours, if not I will take it further.

I have a complaint to make about your branch on Main Road, Observatory, Cape Town.
The service there is disgusting and appalling. They take too long with the orders, sometimes up to 25 minutes. They staff walk around as though they don’t give a damn about the customers and they think that they are better. This branch is supposed to be 24 hours, but in the early hours of the morning they shut their doors and chase customers away that want to have breakfast. They don’t even have the decency to apologize for their behavior.
There is no use to complain to their manager because they managers are either really clueless and just don’t care either and is just there to earn a pay cheque.
This is very disappointing as I am a huge fan of the franchise. Something had better be done about this branch soon or there will dire consequences for this lousy branch.
I’d like to find out the process of lodging a complaint of a local McDonald’s restaurant whose service is constantly disappointing and subpar.

Hillbow branch has the worst service ever.l stood in the que for 30 minutes of the 3 tills only 1 was working and the staff were bjsy playing with each other at the back in front of the customers while the que was at the door already.when l got my food it was wrong order and when l finally got my order the food was cold .Mcfeast is my favourite burger but with that service l got ,think will try other competitors with good customer service.
I took my 2 kids (10 and 11 years old) for a treat at McDonald’s Ormonde this afternoon at about 3:30pm. When I placed my order I was asked by the teller which drinks the the kids would like, I could not hear her properly and asked her to repeat the question, with a frown and some irritability she did. She then wanted to know my chose of drink, sensing her irritability I leaned over and explained that I was hard of hearing and that she should please repeat the question, to my surprise she seem to be even more irritated when asked to do so. I still could not hear her properly when she repeated the drinks chose so I just replied ‘Coke’ as my chose of drink in order to avoid further annoyance on her part.
We finally got our order, had our meal and I left will a sense of unwelcomeness.
The kids had their happy meal but I was unhappy.

Something needs to be done about the store in Vincent Park , East London, SA. I had to wait 30min for my order. The guy who was taking orders would also leave to go assist at the back. Apparently there were only 3 guys in total. When I got my burger it was burnt. And they did not put enough cheese toping on my chilli cheese fries.
Constant disappointing service at Mcdonalds, Ermelo. Incorrect orders and no service in the drive thru, staff just take a peak at you through the window and leave, I was standing in the drive thru, honking my car hooter and they still don’t come to take your order. I ended up leaving the drive thru without a meal.
Today, the 16 June 2019 I went to McDonald’s in Queenstown to get a meal for my kids. We placed an order through driveway with a not so friendly person and a very sarcastic person. He couldn’t even explain to me about the sauces you were offering with your burgers. On the screen when i finished it reflected that I had to pay 263 but to my suprise i was told by this same person that its 364. I gave the gentleman 2 200 notes who said he wont take another note bcoz your machines. This was a very dissapointing as it implies that you are a crook. He was with a short lady both they didnt have a decency of calling their manager
We visited the drive through McDonalds Carnival Mall to start our holiday. After being told there was no cappuccino we then were asked to park to wait for our order. After 20 minutes I went in to demand my money back. The manager was not even apologetic. We left without our food because it wasn’t even ready and our trip was delayed by 25 minutes. McDonalds will not see us again on principle.
I am very disappointed with Mc Donald’s Pretoria west. I ordered large foldover meal at Mc Donald’s Pretoria west via drive through when I arrived at home to enjoy my foldover to my surprise the foldover is dry there is nothing in the foldover. there is no lettuce and no source just dry.
I am a regular customer of McDonalds (by regular I mean 3/4 times a week) I’ve downloaded the app because I use the restaurant often but I’ve noticed there are only beef meals that be on promotion with the app. There are many customers that do not consume beef due to religious purposes. Everytime I check the app hoping I’d see a chicken meal that I can order but I get disappointed everytime. Its amazing how you guys cater for a certain group of people but don’t cater for the other half of the people that don’t consume beef. So basically I have the app for absolutely nothing because I can never use it for something that I actually love!
Terrible service @ McDonalds Karenpark Crossing in Pretoria North.,06/03/2021,18:11pm. My friend and I ordered a meal and added potato bites to it,we see our order number appearing on the “preparing” screen but eventually it disappears and as expected,we thought it would appear on the “come collect” side but that was not the case. We go ask the lady at the counter why it’s not appearing and she says “it will”.After more waiting,lady behind the counter comes with our food and tells us there is no potato bites so they are willing to give us fries but with extra charge, us:”extra charge when it’s not our fault that you guys let us order something that is not available?”. She then says we can give you a hashbrown or nuggets,my friend then says two hash browns rather,the lady behind the counter says she’s going to go ask the manager if that’s possible,she returns and says only one hashbrown is allowed,not two. Honestly never have I waited in line for my order for that long and witnessed such incompetence at a McDonalds.

I have had a very bad experience at McDonald’s Brackenfell on 19/03/2021. I was standing in the drive thru since 18:55 to about 19:15 for some ice cream for my wife and I, just to get to the intercom and find out that there is no ice cream. I then went inside to ask the manager to please atleast put up a sign or something to inform the customers about the broken ice cream machine. I was then told that they are not allowed to put up signs. I feel this policy totally disregard the customers time and is not what I expect from mcdonalds.
I visited the McDonald’s in Golden Acre Cape Town, I had a very bad experience as I waited so long for my order. Ended up going to ask for it and when I was asking non of the crew was interested to tell me what happened with the food I ordered. I ended up canceling my order as hungry as I was.
Bad service. So I just bought a Two happy meals for delivery (was still at work) I had to leave the cash with the security because I had duties to complete. 10 min after leaving the money with security the driver called telling me that he’s outside and even asked for a tip.
Time to leave I found my order on the front counter each meal in its box no take away bag nothing juice was nicely next to the boxes. Poor service then people have the audacity to ask for a tip. I even took a picture so wish I can share it here..

Just had the worst burger I have ever been served at McDonald’s….Bun was stale, over cooked patties and dry as hell and to top it off no sauce. I am a regular and this is a first for me.
I had a very bad experience with the McDonald’s team at Alexandra, pan Africa mall. I ordered a chicken folder spicy, only to get home I open my folder they are no chicken burgers, took it back to find a rude manager that laughed in my face, no apology nothing, the service there is always poor. Staff is rude and don’t even wear name tags.
As a frequent customer I was quite frustrated when earlier on today ( 28/05/2021 ) at 6pm, I ordered food from McDonalds Dobsonville via UberEats and I did not receive my food. I waited an hour for my food, only for the Branch to cancel my order for no reasonable reason.
I am absolutely disappointed with the service I received. I was forced to order food from somewhere else as there was load shedding and I couldn’t prepare a decent meal for myself. I’m hoping that something will be done about this to make sure this does not happen again
I had an exceptionally wonderful experience at McDonald’s Old Fort Road McCafe in Durban where a young lady by the name of Sibongile was serving me. I live in Hillcrest KZN which is about 27 kms from this Mcdonalds but I always make it a point to visit them for the best cup of Cappucino in town. I want to commend this particular store for having the best team members.
In this time of economic hardship you would expect people to value their jobs. I was at McDonald’s in Kgosimampuru this morning. I ordered donuts at the drive through, when l arrived at the pick up point, there was no greeting. I was asked for my receipt and then told to park on the side. No explanation why? We went to McDonald’s drive-thru in Promenade, Mitchells Plain Cape Town. We had been standing in the queue for more than half an hour when they closed the drive-thru without any explanations or reasons and it wasn’t even closing time yet. We ordered from Mc Donald’s Ermelo at 17h49 (01/08/2021) and after an hour we still have not received our order. Its now after 19h00 and the store is closed and we still did not received our order. The only feedback is driver is out with order. The driver is driving for more than an hour. Cold food and bad service. This is not the first time that Ermelo Mc Donald’s don’ t deliver and has this bad service.
So I came to your branch at Alex Mall today around 15:23 I have never felt so small as a customer. The service is extremely poor. I was assisted by a lady named Refilwe at the till who was rude and had an attitude. Firstly I walked into the store and tried to place an order on your machines but couldn’t coz i dnt know how to use it so I went to the counter and tried to order from there. Firstly Refilwe had attitude for someone to be working with customers and didin’t even offer to assist me with placing an order but instead pointed at the machines and told me to go place my order there. I tried telling her that I have already tried but she turned her back on me and went to the kitchen, she didn’t even bother to assist me to place my order from the self service machine or from the counter. I had to ask another customer to help me place an order. I felt so embarrassed and only bought my daughters happy meals because they wanted burgers,had it not been for them. I would have just left. Please train your staff, they dont know what customer service is.
On 14/08/2021 at 13:15 I went to order the new grand chicken special only to find just a bun with a chicken burger n mayonnaise. I bought it in braamfontein and I live in soweto imagine the disappointment. How can they do this, atleast if they stated that it wasn’t available
As soon as we opened the door , your assistant with an unfriendly tone , announced “ you all cannot sit in as we are close “
I looked at her in shock and then asked, “ what time do you close ?”
She then replied at 19:00 however it states 20:00 on the site.
I must also state , she was having friend and had no interest in taking our temperature, sanitising our hands or taking our details down. Against all COVID protocols however rushes the customers to move out so she could clean up 2/3 hours prior to closing.
So we placed our order, waited a while and then got our number called out.
As I walked up to fetch my order , I greeted the gentleman,”hello” , this didn’t register to him so again “hello “ not again… then as i gave him my slip I said hello for the third time , before I could let go of it , then only did he say hello when he saw that he himself was wrong by not showing any customer service.
Being a field manager in retail for the past 10 years , I will never want to feel this way again.
I get home to put a movie on while it’s still early.
Hand out kids their burgers, then portion the chips to share on eat plate. This took some time as I had to break out all the burnt , black, green ends of multiple chips not forgetting the over fried ones. I have always loved your chips and would be satisfied having them as a meal alone.Never again
I am so disappointed at you guys. This evening I ordered 2x big mac and 2x chocolate milk shake from Fauna Park Polokwane, to my surprise when delivery arrived there were no milk shakes, instead the milk shakes were replaced by an apple juice and the delivery guy said that he was told that milk shakes were not available. No one bothered to check with me first if I’d be fine with the replacement or not. What makes me angrier is the fact that milk shake is more expensive than juice but someone just decided to do that replacement without my concern and did not even bother to give me back the price difference. Believe you me I am so cross.
We are at McDonald’s Mams Mall and when we placed our order, we indicated that we’re eating in and even entered our table number. A few minutes later, instead of bringing our order to our table, one of the employees calls us from a distance with a rude tone and tells us that our order is ready and we should come get it. I mean what’s the point of having a table service if you’re going to call out to people like that. When I go to get the order I found three employees standing by the collection area doing nothing when they could’ve easily brought our order to us.
I would like to compliment mcdonald’s stanger kwadukuza.. I went there yesterday date 3 November with my Kidz because it was my son’s birthday…. Customer service was wonderful.. Placed an order at McDonald’s Southgate at 14h33. Within 5 min the system order ready to collect. Needless to say I got the order 10 minutes later. I had to stand by the counter for 10 minutes with no communication from staff. Nothing. The store needs to stop rigging the system. I am totally unhappy.

I have been trying to contact Mc Donald Krugersdorp from 18h00 without any success the phone does not even ring, then I tried ordering online to collect also not successful, you people need to have a look at this as it is a very bad situation and forces people to drive to the nearest branch, and if you do not have a vehicle it is a problem, and if you order for delivery the prices are extremely high, sorry Mc Donald’s is forcing us to buy from other take-away outlets that give us service and delivery without such a high extra cost, you need to sort out at your branches why there telephone lines do not work and why can we not order online for collection.
Visited the McDonalds in South Beach Durban in November 2021. They refused to let me scan my app to earn points. It seems they did not know what was happening. Simon and Noxolo are the rudest managers ever and the most unhelpful. I logged and complaint and received an SMS to say the case is resolved but till today it is not resolved. Noxolo and Simon called me to say there is nothing they can do for me to get me points. I did advise Simon he was there the day of the incident and it is not my fault they did not want to scan the app and i still want my points, he started screaming at me over the phone and was very rude. Noxolo was also shouting at me when she called. They both are unprofessional and should not be dealing with customers.
Went to McDonald’s Florida North in Johannesburg on the 27 Jan 2022. I ordered a chicken share box and an extra burger and a fold over however when we got home 2 of the share box burgers were missing. This is not the first time I went to this McDonald’s and food were missing. I called immediately and spoke to a lady named Tiisetso needless to say she was of no help to me. I am really disappointed that I am charged the full amount but food is missing in my order. I would like the manager or owner of that store to look into this issue as it seems like a normal thing for that specific McDonald’s.
The McDonald’s in Rosebank has proven to be completely useless. This is the 3rd time they mess up my order. I am completely frustrated. I use my points on my app, they take my points and charge me, the second time they forgot my burger in my order and I was already at work. I dont normally get takeaways but as a treat my kids dad sent money for McDonalds. So excitedly off we went and ordered. I find it DISGUSTING that when offered what size they only asked Med or Large not knowing the sizes i then asked for a med only to be charged R21 more for less! There was no garnish and got charged extra R2 for changing it to cream soda. My son is 10 and a kiddies meal doesn’t fill him hence i ordered the big mac. On Monday 21 February 2022, at 21:15 I went to McD near Waterfall Mall in Rustenburg. The lady at the drive-through paypoint was rude to me after THEY messed up my order. She told me it was all my fault and wanted me to pay extra for their mistake, plus an extra R10 for patties.

On the 28 February 2022 I went to Mc Donald’s next to South Gate – I waited for an hour till my order was prepared. To my surprise people buy similar items after me however ended up obtaining their purchase, contacted the manager and my matter seemed to be made fun of. I was at Mcdonalds Vanderbijlpark at 15:30 today (Sunday 3rd, 2022.) I had never used the ordering machines before and when I got to your branch, I asked one of your employees to assist me in placing my order, but instead of assisting me, she made fun of me, ridiculed me in front of the other customers and the staff. I asked for her name and she refused to give it to me. I then asked for the manager (Happy), and I informed him that I have been made fun of instead of being assisted. The manager himself was no help because he never helped me place the order either. This makes me wonder how many people have left because of being made to feel the same as they did to me. This morning I popped into McDonald’s Ballito for a quick cuppa. I ordered the R20 filter coffee and donut special. The donut was delicious but the coffee tasted like stale dishwater. Please guys, offer a decent cup of coffee, even if you have to charge more.
Pinecrest Mc Donald’s are very inconsiderate. I went through the drive through at 07:36 am placed an order and was told to park they will bring my order to the car. At 8am I had to go and fetch my meal because they forgot whose meal it was. They had my slip with my registration on it but still forgot. I had a cold breakfast and they made me late for work. Not even to apologize. Disgusted at those incompetent staff in the drive through!
I visited the McDonald’s on Beyers (West Rand) this morning for a breakfast. I was pleasantly greeted and offered assistance from Rigby as I entered the restaurant. It was such a nice experience to be greeted by a happy face and given amazing customer service throughout my stay at the restaurant. I visited Mc Donald’s last night 06/05/2022 the drive through in KZN- Pinetown, I was not happy with the level of service. I don’t mind the waiting, but coming to the window and being disrespected was not okay from the cashier to collection was horrible.
back chatting a customer in unethical way is not promoted, everybody seemed to not care. My order was incorrect with drinking and I got a mouth full for commenting. I don’t want to see people loose their job’s but please talk to your staff about customer experience when visiting your restaurant.
Went to Mafikeng drive thru on 07/05/22 around 11:33… Had my order messed up, and i wasn’t given a receipt after being told i can’t get a refund for cancelling 1 item. Went back on 08/05/22 spoke to Thabang, a very polite guy
who promised to call me back after 14:00, it’s now 18:00. Seems like bad service is the order of the day in your outlets. This is disappointing.
Friday 10th June 2022.
Ordered on Mcdonald’s adderley street in cape town. I was charged twice for the same order and I was told the other transaction would be reversed, here I am still waiting for my refund. And no one seemed interested in this matter when I went back to the store today. I was told someone would call me.
It’s now way past 7:30am at your Mc Donalds in Cavendish and your doors hasn’t been open yet and your staff looks like they are not worried. It’s not the first morning that this happens.

I ordered a double quarter pounder meal at Bayers Naude BP South, I was told it has been discontinued I can only get one patty, if I want another it’s R20.
