About Maldives Police Service 
Maldives Police Service is responsible for maintaining law and order in the island country Maldives. Formed in the year 2004, the agency is responsible to the Ministry of Home Affairs, and brings under it over 100 police stations and desks spread across the country. Maldives Police Service’s motto states – “to protect and serve the people of Maldives”. The force is headed by the Commissioner of Police. Under him comes the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chief Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Police, Chief Inspector of Police, Inspector of Police, Police Station Inspector, Police Sergeant, Police Corporal and Police Constable.
