About JioMeet
JioMeet is an Indian video conferencing solution developed by telecommunications company Reliance Jio, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries. Launched in July 2020, the application competes with the likes of Zoom, Google Meet and Skype. Within days of launch it became a hit with large number of downloads recorded on Google Play Store. The video conferencing platform can be used for one to one meeting or a large conference call. You can in fact have up to 100 participants at same time. To get started, users will need to sign up for an account on the platform with their phone and email.
Once registered, users can create and host a meeting. Just like in Zoom, you can schedule meetings in advance. The hosts will have a meeting code that can be sent to participants, inviting to join the room. The participant need to open the JioMeet app and input the meeting ID to join. If the room has Waiting Room option enabled, the user needs to wait till the host permits admission. The encrypted and password-protected meetings can be enjoyed in HD audio and video quality. And like other popular video conferencing platforms, on JioMeet you can share your screen, chat and collaborate. The host can also enable the Active Speaker view layout during meeting. If you are on the road, you can enable the ‘Safe Driving Mode’.
The platform can be accessed on Windows, Android and iOS. And it can support up to 5 devices at same time.
