About Irish Spring
Irish Spring is an American deodorant soap brand owned by Colgate-Palmolive. The brand was first launched in Germany around 1970 and launched in the US two years later.
The brand gained popularity through it’s first deodorant soap that had a specific scent known as ‘Ulster’. The company has since then expanded its catalog to include an array of fragrances under a number of sub-brands. Until 1980, the company only manufactured deodorants and shaving products. However, it was in 2007 that it launched its first body wash. Incidentally, Colgate-Palmolive re-launched Irish Spring deodorant as a new ‘Speed Stick’ variant in 2011.
Irish Spring’s catalog currently includes 8 bar soaps namely Aloe, Moisture Blast, Icy Blast, Deep Action, Exfoliating Scrub, Hydrating bar and Advanced Performance skin hydrating bar. Just adding my voice to the list of disappointed people who have used the original soaps for decades. I recently purchased another 20 pack but look different. Tried it anyway and had to use wife’s soap to get the smell and feel off my skin.
I like many of your long time customers have used Irish spring body wash for as long as I can remember, then the packaging changed and so did the smell, it says original but it’s not! It has that cheap perfume smell! Very sad to say but I will not buy the new Irish spring body wash ever again, I had to throw it out.
Why do companies think changing the Original product will bring them better returns? If you are trying to attract a different demographic, then create whatever it is you have made the Original into, but add that product into the mix. Don’t completely change the Original, because now in your attempts to attract a younger consumer, you have lost your Original Consumers.
Use Irish Spring the whole life. The scent was what we loved till they made it cheap in 2022. Bought 12 pack as usual and threw out. Yuck. Heart broken. Good bye forever!
Unfortunately, I am tagging in on the other comments about the new smell. I know change is necessary at times. This one appears to be in the wrong direction. I would also like to comment on the new bottle. It’s extremely difficult to squeeze out the soap, especially when the bottle is close to being empty. Hoping you will be able to change something again soon. Currently patiently waiting.
I’ve been a long time Irish Spring Moisture Blast. What happened to it? Your new Moisture Blast smells completely different and I’m not a fan. Both the bar and liquid are terrible. I’m going to change to a different brand. Very disappointed…
I am absolutely heart broken I’ve used original Irish spring my whole life, my dad passed away in 2013 and that was literally the only scent he ever smelled like. The new scent is trash why not keep the original and add a new one?
I have been a faithful customer for 25 years. I have issues with UTI’s and yeast infections and your aloe scent soap that did not irritate me or cause problems. I am now on the hunt for a new company because the new aloe bar is WAY too perfumed and caused yeast issues within days!
Why change a good thing?! I’m so disappointed and just wish you could go back to what I know and love.
Why has the soap I’ve used for over 2 decades changed? The smell is different and it feels different after washing my body. I’ve been using original Irish Spring for more than 20 years. Please bring back the “original” scent and formula.
I’ve used original Irish Spring for years. I noticed a difference lately. I checked the box and websites and found out it has changed. I never liked the aloe smell and hate this new one. I will be looking for a new kind. No more Irish Spring!
My dad has been using Irish spring almost all of my 57 years of life he is now 77 and I just bought him a case of Irish spring for Christmas but it’s not the regular bath bars size because we can’t find it anywhere I have looked high and low for the bath bar size and so has he so I had to buy a case of smaller bars which he just does not like he likes the bigger bars…he lives in Wisconsin I live in New York. Where can I find the bigger bars, that doesn’t have all these aloe or other funky ingredients to them, he’s old fashioned and he just don’t like other smells and he just likes the original bath bars.
We have been using Irish spring soap for many years and love the moisture blast. I just bought an8-3.7. oz package at my Walmart on Saturday February 5th, 2022 and to my dismay all the bars had moisture on them. They were packaged in boxes and then in a cellophane wrap. What a mess.
My family has been using Irish Spring Moisture Blast body wash for over 15 years. The crisp clean scent is unbeatable!!!
It smelled so fantastic that I actually bought a 2 pack of the bar soap and put it underneath a used car I bought because it didn’t smell fresh. Today, I bought a new bottle of the body wash with a new label. Thinking the label was the only thing that had changed but boy was I WRONG. My kid came out of the shower smelling like he just sprayed DOLLAR TREE PERFUME on himself. Nothing fresh about the “new and improved” Moisture Blast.
Just a suggestion, Irish Spring smell so good, did ya’ll ever thought about making candles with this scent? Make a home smell fresh an clean, just like someone who has just taken a shower. Thank you
