About Iraqi Airways
Iraqi Airways is the flag carrier of the Republic of Iran. Headquartered at Baghdad, the airline commenced operations in 1946. Today, it has a fleet of 30 aircraft connecting to more than 45 destinations. The state-owned airline has its main hub at Baghdad International Airport, with operating bases at Basra and Erbil. Currently, the airline connects to destinations across Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, India, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, UAE and the UK. Fliers can plan their journey or reserve a seat online through the booking search tool on the homepage. A flight can be easily searched by inputting the origin, destination and travel date. Do see the promotions on the homepage for saving on fares. Tickets can be booked on the website using all major Visa and MasterCard. Existing ticket holders can manage their booking with reference number or by signing into their account. If you plan to cancel the ticket, you are advised to notify the airline in writing. While some tickets are refundable, there are others that do not offer any refund. Do read the terms on the ticket before confirming the journey. There will also be an administration fee if needing modification or changes in the name or date.
Iraqi Airways offers cabins with both Economy and Business class. The latter as with other airlines comes with spacious leather seating, meals and other privileges. Note that at present the airline does not offer online checkin facility. You will need to checkin at the airport at least 4 hours prior to departure. On all flights, passengers are allowed one free cabin baggage with restriction of 10kg. As for checked baggage, it varies from 20 to 40kg, depending on the class of travel.
