About IBPS
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an Indian recruitment agency that is given the task of recruiting probationary officers and management trainees in public sector banks. The government recruitment body, which began in the year 1975 as Personnel Selection Services, is governed by a board that has individuals from the RBI, Ministry of Finance, National Institute of Bank Management and Indian Banks’ Association. As widely known, one of the most important functions of IBPS is conducting Common Written Examinations (CWE), shortlisting candidates based on merit scores and offering placements in public sector banks. It designs and develops recruitment projects, admission tests and certification projects, assessment of centre projects and group exercises. Operations are managed by key divisions such as Client Relations, Design & Analysis, Research & Development, Technology Support Services, Support Services and Financial & Allied Services.

On an average, IBPS handles close to 500-600 projects each year. The exams are conducted in around 600-650 sessions. Not only public sector banks, IBPS also provides its services to RBI, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural, co-op banks, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), among others. Government departments, state-owned companies and corporations also benefit out of the tech and academic expertise. The major public sector banks that benefit out of the recruitment and placement of candidates include Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Union Bank of India and Punjab National Bank.

The national-level entrance exam is mostly held between August-November and in three stages – prelims, mains and interview. More than 10 million candidates register for the IBPS exams each year. And they are held across 200 cities and towns. The personnel selection test conducting agency conducts interviews for clerical, officer or specialist officer roles. It is responsible for issuing notifications on media, collecting fee, receiving applications and issuing call letters. For higher level positions, IBPS has designed methods and tools for assessment, including interpersonal skills using simulation, group exercise and critical event interviews.

Candidates appearing for banking exams can browse the official website for downloading exam call letter, information handout for CRP-RRBs, and mock tests. You can also view scores of online preliminary examination by registration/roll-number. The results will be published till the closure date.
