I can see that Hotpoint Customer Service is bad for everyone. I have my appliances covered by Domestic and General, who overall are pretty Good, but Hotpoint Customer Service, really is not customer service, they are useless. It seems that it is ok to rearrange your whole day, which when you you work in a hospital is not easy, for them to give you a couple of hours notice to say they have changed your appointment, by text, not even the courtesy of a phone call. When you try to phone them you have to listen to a whole load of unwanted rubbish only to be told they can not answer your call, try later or use online chat. Don’t bother with online chat, they are about as helpful as a chocolate teapot.
I have been reading these complaints and realise that I am not alone in thinking that Hotpoint is probably the worst Company to buy a fridge, cooker microwave or any other type of white goods. My Hotpoint cooker is totally useless. I can’t make a sponge in it or it sinks in the middle, it burns on one side of the cooker and doesn’t cook properly on the other side! It’s going rusty at the bottom of the oven , and I can’t clean between the door glass because the screw to remove it has turned out!
Absolutely atrocious product and service from Hotpoint. I bought a microwave via their Privilege Purchase Club only 4 weeks ago The interior light has stopped working and so I phoned the service centre. First of all the call handler (Sanchez) had trouble finding my particular purchase, even though I had registered the product with D&G immediately on purchase, and also online with Hotpoint. After early 20 minutes Sanchez said he would have to call me back. A few minutes later I received a text from DPD group to tell me that my “parcel” would be picked up on the following Monday. No phone call from Sanchez. So I phoned back and spoeto Sanchez asking what the text was about. He said that the microwave was being picked up . I asked if they were sending a replacement and he said not, I would receive a refund within 28 days. I asked why it would not be replaced or repaired and he said he didn’t know and asked me to hold while he asked a colleague. When he returned he told me they were no longer stocking microwaves. Really? Yet they are sold online and in the shops. He would not engage further and when I asked to speak to a manager he refused to put me through. So now I will be without a microwave and will have to wait a month for a refund. So, it appears that the product is of inferior quality having lasted only 4 weeks, and used about 10 times, before breaking ( my previous supermarket brand microwave had lasted 6 years and was still working when I decided to “upgrade”). Similarly Hotpoint customer service is non-existent.
I now can’t find the address that the microwave has to be returned to and the customer service line that is supposed to be open 7 days a week is apparently closed at weekends. I will never by a Whirlpool product again.
I have experienced the worst customer service ever from hotpoint. My original dryer was subject to a recall, I took up the offer of a replacement dryer which at the time cost me an additional €100. I got my replacement dryer in August, and since December I’ve had 5 engineers visits to try fix it, it’s been nothing but trouble. Hotpoint are offering me another replacement dryer at another additional cost,
it would have been cheaper for me to buy from a local store as they are only applying a partial value to the faulty dryer. If this wasn’t so frustratingit would be laughable. I’ve made over 20 phone calls and still no dryer. Waiting for a return call for over a week. I will never again buy a hotpoint appliance.
Don’t know where to start. Terrible service will never use Hotpoint ever again. Got a brand new fridge freezer delivered followed all manufacturers instructions. Lights on so had power but didn’t get cold? After 48 hours and multiple phone calls getting nowhere I had to buy another fridge freezer from ao.com. I am now 6 days after having it delivered and still nobody has contacted me to take it away or give me a refund. I found this disgusting to leave a family with no fridge or freezer all this time.
I wish I had seen all this about hotpoint before going to buy a range of kitchen appliances from hotpoint. Just 6 months in the cooker has broken down with no date for fixing it for the second time. I am now worried about the glass cooker hood I have. I need to pray that it does not break while we are around to avoid injury.
Safety of glass hood on Hotpoint extractor fan isn’t guaranteed: it can shatter with explosive force:
When the glass hood on our Hotpoint extractor fan shattered with a bang and exploded across our kitchen 6 weeks ago, I hoped Hotpoint/Whirlpool might do more than tell me I would need to pay for a replacement as it was outside my 1 year warranty. After several telephone calls, emails (unanswered) and finally letters to head office by special delivery, I’ve been told that ‘unfortunately breakage of glass can still occasionally occur due to a variety of causes’ and ‘we cannot put a life expectancy on our appliances’ but ‘this is not indicative of a design or inherent safety issue with the hood’. However, I’ve been assured by Whirlpool Customer Services and CEO Service Support that ‘the glass is designed to shatter in the safest way possible so that no sharp pieces are produced in the event of failure.’ So I guess that’s ok, then? The ‘failure’ of our glass hood wasn’t just disintegration into small nodules of safety glass: it shot them right across our kitchen with enough force to cause injury and/or damage.
So if anyone reading this has a Hotpoint extractor fan with a glass hood, please take care or consider a replacement from a reputable manufacturer; anyone thinking of buying one, I’d suggest you avoid glass.
I took yesterday of work as I was expecting an engineer to call between the hours of 07.15 to 10.15 am and no one turned up or had the decency to ring me. I was on live char with a chat called Jack and he was not much help neither were the others. My new Hotpoint machine was delivered on the 15/05/21 and the engineers that came to my house botched everything up.
I have been trying to communicate with Hotpoint for several weeks. I have raised a complaint however no contact. I have a faulty machine… burnt rubber smell and rubber bits all over my washing. Your so called engineer fixed this 2 days ago but infact made matter worse. I need to speak to someone .
I’m buying filters for my tumble dryer they keep breaking very poorly made i feel let down by hotpoint at the moment this was a tumble dryer that I changed because they had a fault with the one I had
I would like to thank you for the quick response to the replacement of my Hotpoint washing machine that was on the recall list received on Wednesday the 15th January from the time it was notified in December it took on ly 4 weeks including the Xmas period
Hotpoint may introduce an Iron with a plug-to-iron cord. It’s a revolutionary idea and it’s not too difficult to do. It is quite simple, as I’ve spent many hours in frustration of unwinding the kinks out of my wife’s iron cord. One could have an iron cord neatly coiled up before one starts ironing to take the frustration out of un-kinking their iron cord, which is usually made of hard material.
This is not a complaint but don’t know who to contact. I have just had to replace my Hotpoint Super Dryer which I bought many years ago and I wondered if you could tell me when it was manufactured. It has only had one repair over 20 years ago.
Model no 17451 group 2
Serial no 89439548
I would be grateful for any information.
I have tried, without success for several days to register a complaint with Hotpoint. Having emailed at length to the given address all I receive in reply is a message saying I need to go on to live chat!
I’ve told you my problem why is it impossible for someone to address it and message me back!
Our elderly(9 yrs) fridge/freezer was not working last week – an engineer came the next day & fixed it, BUT this week (Mon) it failed again. This time we had to wait 4 days for the repair. Pleasant engineer came today & tried but had to tell me the appliance was a write-off. He kindly called Hotpoint who arranged for insurers to call, which they did & offered a free replacement or upgrade for £85. I said we would look at both & call them back, which I did at 5.55pm. After the usual time consuming recording I was asked to hang on, which I did, for an HOUR, at which point I gave up! I thought I was, as advised, in a queue, but no, the “office” must have closed at 6pm, in which case WHY was I repeatedly told to hang on & NOT asked to leave my name/number? WHO is responsible for changing the recorded message & WHY was this not done?
ANNOYED!
Can someone from a senior position please make contact with myself, over an issue with a fridge freezer, I have tried on two occasions to get this resolved, to no avail.
if this is not possible an engineer call will out to sort.
*This not a complaint* … It’s the opposite. Just to say a big thank you to a lovely young man named Jimmy, his number. 50431. What a change to see a smiler.
He fitted my dishwasher today, he was very polite professional and informative with a happy disposition.if only all were like him.
Kind regards.
