There is also a 11 acre zoo within the park called ZooAmerica. For the most interesting fact, the park was created by Milton Hershey as leisure ground for employees of Hershey’s Chocolate Factory. Hersheypark is open from 10am to 10pm.
The rides and attractions at Hersheypark include Cocoa Cruiser, Comet, Fahrenheit, Great Bear, Laff Trakk, Lightning Racer, Sidewinder, Skyrush, Wild Mouse, Storm Runner, Wildcat, Ferris Wheel, Fender Bender, Pirate, Monorail, Kissing Tower, Starship America, Wave Swinger, Trailblazer, Waverider, Intercoastal Waterway, Bayside Pier, Coal Cracker, and Coastline Plunge-Hdro/Pipeline/Riptide.
Tickets for entry can be purchased at the Main Gate or even online using major credit cards. You have 1-day, 2-day and 3-day admission tickets. There are different price slabs for adults, senior citizens and kids. Season Pass holders enjoy unlimited visits (specific months), free parking, discounts and other benefits. Two of us went to the park today to take advantage of the “bonus” weekend that I found out in an email as a season pass holder . We drove 2 hours to get to the park, anxious to ride the great collection of coasters. We arrived to be very disappointed when we found out that all of the big rides were not open. It is the first time in my more than 26 years of attending the park that I was disappointed in the park. I have had a season pass for most of those years and brought dozens of people to the park for years. We did go t the guest relations and asked for a refund for my guest’s ticket. They kindly did give us the refund. I’m very grateful for that.
My disappointment is that it felt deceiving to be led to believe that the park was going to be open with the all of the rides. I say that because I I did not see anything in the email I received that gave indication that the big rides would be closed. If it was there, I did not see it. We made the drive to ride the rides, which was not possible of course.
I would offer that if the park is going to be open at an unusual time, it should be made clear that some of the rides will not be open. I would never have assumed that I would need to go to the website to check if the rides would be open. As a longtime season pass holder, I have never gone to the park to find the major rides all closed. I know that it is that way during the Christmas season, but I have seen that advertised.
