About Hamilton Gardens
Hamilton Gardens is a public garden situated on the banks of the Waikato River, Hamilton, New Zealand. The park is spread across 54 hectares and is open every day from 7.30am. Entry is free. Pre-booked tours are available for groups. Just a short 45 minute drive from Hobbiton, the park is easily accessible through bus or taxi.
The many garden collections you will find at Hamilton Gardens include Indian Char Bagh Garden, Italian Renaissance Garden, Japanese Garden of Contemplation, Chinese Scholar’s Garden, English Flower Garden, Modernist Garden, Te Parapara Garden, Sustainable Backyard, Herb Garden, Kitchen Garden, Tudor Garden, Tropical Garden, Chinoiserie Garden, Rogers Rose Garden, Hammond Camellia Garden, Victorian Flower Garden, Bussaco Woodland, Valley Walk and Echo Bank Bush.
There is an information center that you will find located as you enter Gate 1 carpark. You can visit here if you have queries on events, tickets or others.
