About Grand Palace
Grand Palace is a popular tourist attraction located in Bangkok, Thailand. A large complex of buildings, the palace housed several kings, with the last being King Chulalongkorn. Initiated by King Rama I in the year 1782, the Grand Palace still holds state functions and royal ceremonies every year. The Grand Palace boasts of a royal chapel that looks like a Buddhist temple, an Outer Court that houses the Bureau of the Royal Household, Sala Luk Khun Nai, and Sala Sahathai Samakhom; the Middle Court that includes Phra Maha Prasat, Chakri Maha Prasat, and the Phra Maha Monthien; a Garden and Inner Court.

Spread across 218,400 sq meters, the Grand Palace is open throughout the year. Visitor timings start from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm. There are close to 35 attractions within the palace complex. Admission fee is 400 Baht and also includes entrance to the Coin Pavilion, Vimanmek Mansion and Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall. Locally known as Phra Borom Maha Ratcha Wang, a major attraction within the palace is the Emerald Buddha which is 45 cms tall. As for reaching the Grand Palace, you can commute through bus, taxi or Tuk Tuk.
