GrabPay is a popular mobile payment solution introduced by ride-hailing company Grab. Introduced in Malaysia and Singapore, GrabPay is a digital mobile wallet that allows users to conveniently and securely make payments. Not only rides on Grab cabs, users can also pay at shops and for home deliveries through the in-app technology. The GrabPay Card, which was launched in 2019 through partnership with Mastercard, allows making payments to Mastercard merchants without a bank account. It can be used at merchant stores around the world, both online and offline. If you are registered with Samsung Pay, you can now link the same with GrabPay Card.
Not registered for GrabPay Card? Open your Grab app and you will find the option to request for a card. Once your application has been approved, you will need to activate same in order to use. While submitting an application is free, there will be a fee for physical card, card replacement, and foreign currency transaction. For those who are not aware, the digital card cannot be used to make online transfers to other bank accounts
The numberless card addresses security concerns by storing details of card securely within the app. If the card is lost, users can suspend payments and lock the card from within the app. GrabPay users get instant payment notifications and detailed transaction history. All of it is encrypted and protected with a robust fraud detection engine. To link your credit or debit card or remove same, open your digital wallet and you will see the wallet icon where you can update card details.
To make it more appealing, GrabPay has a rewards point system where it rewards users for every purchase made through GrabPay Card. Each transaction earns you GrabRewards points that can be used to redeem attractive rewards. GrabPay users are automatically included as a GrabRewards member. Currently there are four member tiers – Member, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The tiers are based on the number of points you accumulate. You can check the point history from within the app. Points can be redeemed for fare discounts on your Grab rides and for deals related to dining and shopping.
