About Golden Gate Park
The United States is a country of expansive parks that provide a green haven for people and a safe habitat for many species of birds and animals. One such beautiful park in San Francisco, California is the Golden Gate Park. Under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, the Golden Gate Park spreads across an area of 1017 acres and attracts over 13 million visitors every year. Since it is an urban park, visitors to San Francisco usually include the park along with the Golden Gate Bridge and other San Francisco attractions. It is open through the year, and while entry to the park is free of charge, there is an admission fee charged for popular attractions in the park such as the de Young Museum, California Academy of Sciences and the Conservatory of Flowers.

The Golden Gate Park is a visual treat as it has gardens, flowers, trees, lakes all abounding with birds and animals. The expansive grounds also give young and old great opportunities in outdoor activities, sports and nature walks. Along with the natural beauty, Golden Gate Park houses the California Academy of Sciences, the Japanese Tea garden, De Young Museum, conservatory of Flowers and the Golden Gate Aquarium. There are numerous meadows, hills, lakes, gardens and groves where visitors can picnic and camp and enjoy the beauty of pristine nature.

There are a multitude of events and activities hosted in the Golden Gate Park all through the year – from golf tourneys to marathons, flower shows and Zombie Walks to Chocolate and hike pairings to Thanksgiving specials and music concerts – there is always something exciting happening that draws repeat visitors to the Park. No wonder then that Golden Gate Park is the third most visited park in the US. The Park website has a comprehensive almanac outlining all the events planned for the year and you can arrange for your tickets and programmes in advance. The picturesque park also hosts wedding and special occasions amidst breathtaking scenery making indelible memories for the new couple.

Visitors have three options of getting around the park – Segway, electric scooters and bicycles. The more adventurous patrons may of course hike the park on foot. There are guided tours available which could help you cover the highlights of the Park in a single visit. The Park offers ample parking space. You will need to get a permit for organising wedding, picnics and other special events. All information is available in the website. For more information or queries on events, tickets, parking, or others, reach the Golden Gate Park support.
