Flightradar24 is a popular real-time flight tracking platform with global coverage. The Internet-based service was launched in 2006 and today boasts of more than two million users each day. Operated from the headquarters at Stockholm, Sweden, the service tracks over 180,000 flights each day. Part of Flightradar24 AB, the service is currently available on the web as well as Android and iOS platforms. It boasts of more than 40 million app downloads.

On Flightradar24, one can track air traffic live from around the world. The technology is supported by ADS-B, MLAT and radar data, along with schedule and flight status data from airlines. ADS-B, the key technology for the tracking, is short for automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast. According to the website, Flightradar24 has a network of more than 20,000 ADS-B receivers around the world. Apparently the service also relies on volunteers around the world for majority of coverage.
