About Dubai Creek
Dubai Creek is a popular tourist destination and landmark in Dubai, UAE. The seawater creek has a number of Arab dhows, motorized taxis and yachts that sails from Deira to up to Bur Dubai. The creek area is famous for having been the home of the Bani Yas tribe and also the Al Maktoum dynasty. Offering spectacular view of Dubai’s skyline, the creek was a major contributor to the economy after HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum ordered the widening in 1954. This enabled ships of the capacity of 500 tonnes to enter the creek.
Some of the highlights include the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary, Al Fahidi Fort and Sheik Saeed’s House. You can also visit some of the popular souks in the area such as Gold Souk, Spice Souk and the Textile Souk. There are also a number of luxury hotels surrounding the creek.
